I awoke to a blur of people around me. My vision cleared and the people were girls and women. Then my memories came flooding back. I was at a labor prison. OW!!! My head hurt to think. I was laying on something hard and I looked out of the corner of my eye, I appeared to be on a wooden surface. I looked up through the heads and saw the same thing above me. Must be a bunk bed. I heard a few voices mumbling things that I couldn't understand. I lifted my head slightly and looked at my clothing... Well my new clothing. I was now wearing a grey loose shirt and a pair of tattered up jeans that went to my knees, and they actually fit me pretty good. But there was something on them. I'm not talking about the paint stains and grime but there was a note taped on my pants... I peeled it off and read it. "Fear not Ms. Alyssa you are perfectly safe in this prison." He's kidding... RIGHT?!? I continued to read, "You might have noticed a bracelet on your wrist" I looked over at my wrist... Indeed there was a metal bracelet on my wrist. I turned it around on my wrist and I saw letters and numbers on it. I looked back at my note. "There is a series of letters and numbers engraved in it and that is what you shall go by so try to memorize it you are NOT ALLOWED to reveal your real name Ms. Alyssa. From here on out I too will call you by your new name and only periodically or on special occasions shall I call you Ms. Alyssa. On the wall next to you is a small clock and above you on the bunk above is your new schedule you shall follow it everyday (unless I say not to). You and I will have a meeting this evening to clear some things up and go over ground rules at 6:00 pm this evening. One of my men will come and take you to my office since you don't know where it is or you might try to escape. Until then... Happy unpacking." I sat up and looked around for my bags. One of the girls smiled and held up my bags and said, "looking for this?" And handed it to me. "Thank you" I replied. "No problem, I'm 0012378dopln04 but you can call me Smack." "Umm... Ok, thanks..." "Soapsuds!!! She talked she's ok!!! Come over here!"yelled the girl they called smack. "Hi I'm 0029ghw221tbd but you can call me Soapsuds." She chirped happily, and I waved. They helped me sit up and the large mass of people walked away except for one other person and she walked up to me and introduced herself. "Hi! I'm oopdjev3950kd3hdl5 but you can call me lemon!" She said. "Hi I'm... Umm... 1202...Kkfvh...3057...jfkrvc836" I said. "We need to come up with a nick name for you!" Lemon said. "Ok. But how did you guys get your nick names?" I pondered. "Wellllll..." Smack started. "I'm called smack cause I don't keep my mouth shut when I should... When the boss says shut up... I question, why? I don't understand why you people cower down to him." Smack stated. "What about Soapsuds? Where did that come from?" I asked. "I'm called Soapsuds because I'm a clean freak... Everything has to be neat and tidy, and when we are allowed to take showers I take them... Unlike smack over here!" "Hey! Showering is an option so why take more than you have to! I have a busy life!" Smack confidently stated. "Yeah! Like mopping the dorms... Pretty important huh?" Soapsuds bursted out in laughter. Smack gave us all a "shut up" look and stormed off. I looked to where she was going and she went all the way to the other side of the dorm. I then realized I hadn't even looked around so I took the liberty of doing so. My bed seemed to be slightly off center away from the direction smack was headed. The ground was hard, gray concrete. "Bunk beds" (thick wooden planks with chains making a triangle going to the wall) were all along the same wall and the dorm was long like a hallway but wider, and on the parallel wall was two doors that were almost completely made out of glass. Then it occurred to me, "hey guys?" "Ya." Lemon and Soapsuds answered at the same time. "Has anybody ever tried to break out of the dorm? I mean there's a glass door right there." I questioned. They both laughed. "Am I missing something?" They stopped laughing. "Lots of girls have tried to get out..." Lemon said before laughing again. "Ya it's pretty funny." Soapsuds said. I was now confused. How is it funny to try to escape a scary prison when there's a glass door right there?! "It's not glass, since that's what your thinking." Soapsuds answered knowingly. "It isn't? And how did you know I thought it was glass?" "Well first off we've seen many new girls wake up for the first time, realize where they are, grab something hard and run to the door and... Nothing happens. Because it's bullet proof glass. Can't break... Won't break." "Oh. Now I feel more trapped!" I panicked. "Oh it's ok just run up and down the dorm it will feel like your walking miles." Then we all started laughing.
