"Wait." I hear Pierce say from behind me. I'm standing in the road, I slowly step off my board and turn to face him.
I look into his eyes, looking for any kind of emotion. He's hard to read.

"Follow me." He stands up off of the porch and walks around the side of the big white house which is covered in trees. I trail right behind him, "Where are we going?" I ask hesitantly.

"Somewhere" He says, continuing at a fast pace. I roll my eyes and keeps walking behind him.
We continue in silence when we come upon a big oak tree with a small treehouse tucked into its branches. He stops walking and tucks his hands into his jean pockets.

"My dad made me this when I was little." He turns to face me, a somber expression on his face, he looks like he's worn out and tired of everything.
I nod my head and step closer to the tree, admiring the planks that are painted a deep shade of red.

"So.. Are you gonna get in or what?" I turn and smile at him, his somber expression fades into a smirk.
There it is.
He walks underneath where the treehouse is and grabs ahold of the inner base, pulling himself up into it. His toned body peeking through his white shirt. I catch myself staring for too long and took at the ground.

As soon as he's all the way inside, he peeks his head out, "You coming?" He reaches his hand out to grab ahold of mine, I take ahold of his head and pull myself up the same way he did. I guess climbing my house everyday comes in handy.

When we're both inside I look at the inside walls covered in faded pieces of paper with sloppy drawings on them. Each paper has Pierce's name written in the corner.

I turn and smile at him, "These are yours?"
He turns his head from the opposite wall and looks at me, and then to the papers. He lets out a laugh,"Yeah, I used to come in here when i was younger and draw a lot."

He steps forward so he's right next to me, taking one of the papers into his hand. The image on the paper is similar to the tattoo on his arm, a snake with several flowers around it.
"This." I point to the drawing,"It matches your tattoo, why?" I look up at him, he's clenching his jaw while he stares at the image. He shakes his head. He sets that paper down and leans against the wall and sits down.
I stand for a few seconds before taking a seat next to him. We sit in silence for a few minutes before i hear his deep voice again.

"After my Mom left us, I guess I found myself in here more often trying to distract myself from.. things"
I turn my head to him, he's messing with his hands, a nervous tick i'm guessing. I don't know why he's telling me this, I decide not to question him, I like this more open side of Pierce rather than his usually closed off attitude.

"My dad passed away when I was younger, I grew up quick, it was like everything was moving really fast."
I don't know why i'm telling him this, I've never told anyone that so why am I telling Pierce?
He nods his head and faces me, his icy blue eyes connect with mine, he examines every inch of my face and then connects back to my eyes. He smiles,
"You know, I always thought you were kind of a bitch, but I guess you're cool."
I squint my eyes at him, is he being serious? I playfully push his arm.

"I don't know whether to be delighted or offended?" I laugh at him. He smirks at me, "Delighted, of course" I feel my cheeks heat up so I roll my eyes at him and look away.
He lets out a small laugh, I pull my phone out of my pocket, it's already 3 pm.

"Shit.. I should go, I had fun though, thank you for sharing this place with me." I say, placing my hand on his forearm, he tenses up when my skin touches his. He looks down into my eyes with a soft expression, "Anytime, baby"

I stand up to climb out, I land on my feet and start jogging back towards the big brick house I found Pierce sitting at. I look back once to see Pierce walking not too far behind me, I catch his eyes glued on me when I make eye contact and he quickly looks away. I turn my head back around, smiling to myself.

Arriving on the road my house sits on, I stop, there's no way I'm going back in there. I feel a buzz from my pocket. I pull out my phone to see a text from an unknown number.

Hey;) it's Nate, Trixie gave me your number. She also said you weren't feeling well, so I'll see you tomorrow<3

I hold my phone tightly, yesterday I would've been over the moon to see a message from Nate, although today I'm not that excited.

I decide to not respond just yet, I send Trixie a message saying I'll be at her house when she gets off school. Trixie lives in the richer part of town, she lives at least 20 minutes away from me so I hop on my board, and head to her house.
