Dork Diaries Tales From A NOT-SO Happy Heartbreaker

"YES!!" Chloe screams.

"Shh! Someone might hear us!" I whisper-yell.

"Sorry! I am just so excited!!" She squeals.

"Great! Now we all have dates!" Zoey exclaims.

"Yep! I am so excited!"

"What are you going to wear??" Chloe asks.

"Oh my gosh, with all the excitement I totally forgot about that!"

"Don't worry, Nikki. We'll help you find the perfect dress!" Zoey reassures me.

"You guys are the best!" I hug them tightly.

"Not to ruin the moment, but I have to use the bathroom." Chloe whispers.

"Well, I have to go to my locker." I say.

We get out of the janitor's closet and walk our separate ways.

I go to my locker and sigh happily. Brandon asked me to the dance and there was no sign of MacKenzie.

"Nikki?" I hear Brandon's voice call my name just as I close my locker.

"Hey!" I smile and blush uncontrollably.

He steps closer to me. "I wanted to do this yesterday, but the bell ruined the moment."

He takes another step forward and I find myself against my locker. He leans in and cups my face.

"Can I?" He asks and I nod, closing my eyes and preparing for what was going to happen next.

His soft lips touch mine and it felt like the moment last forever! Then, he stopped.

"You're so beautiful, Nikki." I feel my stomach flutter as he says those words.

"T-thank you."

"Do you want to go to the movies with me on Saturday? As my girlfriend?"

"Yes, I'd love that." I smile.
