"Please tell me those two aren't fighting again?" Eli sighed after noticing the tension between her two bandmates.

The girls were warming up to practice for a performance at their usual spot on the rooftop, but they were suddenly faced with an unexpected situation.

"Hmm... that's weird nya," Rin replied whilst doing stretches with Hanayo on the floor. "They were fine yesterday."

"Rin-chan's right." Hanayo softly added, "It wasn't like that yesterday when we left them."

The rest of the girls became quiet at this. They were either deep in thought, or observing both Nico and Maki's unusual silence. The two weren't bickering as usual, nor were they giving each other snark remarks. It was definitely a weird sight for the rest of µ's to witness.

Nico was preoccupied doing leg stretches on the floor and was completely unaware of the girls' stares, especially a certain redhead's. But, like the older girl, Maki also seemed contemplative as she leaned forward with her arms resting against the rails, her attention fully focused on Nico.

Though Eli and the others were clearly worried about the two, Nozomi had a knowing look on her face and seemed to have an inkling of what happened.

"What about last night?" The purple haired third year asked, to which the others looked to her puzzled. "Between Maki and Nicocchi? You said they were acting normally yesterday, but what about after school?" She clarified her previous question.

"Well..." Hanayo started, causing the others to turn their attention to her and making her slightly uncomfortable, "We haven't seen Maki-chan after school."

"She and Nico-chan needed to talk so they stayed behind nya!" Rin added.

This caused a smirk to appear on Nozomi's lips and Eli to narrow her gaze at her best friend upon noticing. "Oh no..." Eli said, "Nozomi, whatever you are planning, it better not make it worse."

"Relax Elicchi!" Nozomi said before clinging onto the blonde's arm, causing a blush to form on the latter's cheeks. "Since when has any of my plans ever gone wrong?" She smiled cheekily.

The day after

It was lunchtime, Umi had asked Maki for help writing out their new song in the school's music room. Though, according to Nozomi, only as a distraction while the rest prepare to initiate the plan to get Maki and Nico to make up.

"I think we should use those lyrics for this part here." Maki said towards a nervous looking Umi, nudging her with her elbow, "Hey, you okay?"

That seemed to snap the second-year from her thoughts as she answered immediately, "Huh? Oh, I just remembered I had something to do today."

"You have something to do?" Maki asked, one brow raised.

"Yes." Umi said as she fumbled to gather her things and heading straight to the door. "I'm really sorry, Maki. I swear I'll make it up to you next time."

Before Maki could get another word in, the blue haired girl had already closed the door behind her, leaving Maki to her own thoughts. "Guess it's just me... again, " she sighed.

With no one else to talk to, her mind began to wander back to yesterday afternoon when she confessed her feelings to a certain third-year. She been prepping herself to just be done with it already all day but also expecting the worse. However, she did not actually expect the worse to happen. Or something like it. "If running away is worse... yeah, it's worse." Maki thought as she sighed and rested her forehead against the piano with her eyes squeezed shut. "I should never have said anything...." she muttered under her breath.
