It has been an exhausting day for you. Fury has yet again gave you another work and expected it to get finished after 3 hours. You just wanted to sleep inside your shared room with your boyfriend at the tower, so after finishing what Fury asked you to do, you immediately went home. Which was much earlier than usual.

You closed the door behind you. "I'm back," you announced as you scanned the room.

It was unusually quiet. Like no one was in there. "JARVIS, is Bruce still in the lab?"

"Mr. Banner didn't enter the lab today, Ms. Y/N."

A piece of paper on your bed caught your attention. You saw your boyfriend's handwriting in there.

Let's break up.

You rushed to your dresser and saw none of his clothes.

And it felt as though someone stabbed you in the heart. As the world fell silent, cold and quiet. Your lips quiver and you can feel your own tears threatening to fall. You let you body fall down the bed, just as you let your tears fall. You crumpled the piece of paper, like how your heart crumpled when you read the letter.

This wasn't the first time that he's brought this up.

He would break up with you before but then he will leave his clothes in your shared room and then after a day he would come back, taking back what he said.

This type of thing happens a lot, but it felt different this time. This time he took his clothes with him, it means he's never coming back again.
This time, he's really breaking up with you.

He really left and he didn't even told you this face to face.

"JARVIS, where's Bruce?"

"He's at the ground floor, preparing to depart."

You rushed to the elevator. "Please take me there as fast as you can."

"Will do, mam."

When the door of the elevator opened, you saw him making his way out of the building. "Bruce!"

He stopped in his tracks. He didn't know you'd be back this early. He wasn't suppose to see you. He clenched his jaw and closed his eyes, shaking his head a little and attempted to continue on his way.

"Bruce!"

He was forced to turn around and look at you. Which he instantly regretted, he wished he didn't do that, because he saw how broken you were. And it makes it even harder for him to leave you.

"So you're really breaking up with me? With a note?" You smiled bitterly as tears fall down.

"W-what did I do wrong? A-am I not enough? Please Bruce, tell me. I promise I'll be better. Just.. just.. just don't leave me." You tried to hug him but he just stepped backwards, away from you.

He furrowed his brows. "W-what?" and shook his head. "No.. no. It's not like that, Y/N." He said, trying so hard not to look at your face.

"Then, i-is there someone else?"

He shook his head again and stared at you. God, he loves you so much. Why would you even think of that? "No..."

"Look, Y/N. I-it's not your fault. You're not the problem here and there's no one else.."

"Then why are you leaving me?"

You couldn't understand him. You want answers. If you weren't the problem and if there's no one else, then why is he breaking up with you? Did he fell out of love? Did he even loved you?
