Charlie's POV
How am I always steps behind? As time passes, the situation gets worse and worse. Where do I even start? More people are getting involved in this and minimal progress has been made so far.
Thirty minutes later, my phone rings......
"Hello? Who's this?" There was no answer. It's just hear breathing, constant breathing. I ask, "do I know you? Whoever you are, it's not funny."
Then a low voice replies. "I know where you live, Charlie." I became uneasy, this person knows my name. I immediately hang up. I suddenly got the chills just from the call. I went back to the room instead to check on them.
I enter the room, Katie's already asleep. I asked Jose where the others are. "They went outside to buy some food." He replied. I called Arthur to check if there are any updates on the investigation. "Hey, Charlie. On the investigation, there's nothing yet so far. But I checked the records of the van that the guy used to try and take Sam, and it's from a company I've never heard of." Is there any address that we can use Arthur?" "None so far, Charlie. I've checked all the records about the van and the mysterious man, nothing. Whoever's behind this is are pros. They just leave is scraps to feed on and then poof they're gone again." "Ok Arthur, keep me posted." "Sure thing Charlie."
As I was about to head out of the room to look for Arthur outside the hospital, I saw the man quickly walk past our room. I began to look uneasy as I glanced at Jose who is looking at me confused. Call 911, tell them that there is a man who is armed with a gun, use my phone Jose and also call Arthur. Tell him that the man is here in the hospital. I start to panic because I don't know what to do. I don't have my karambit with me that I usually have on me, Katie is asleep beside Sam, Arthur is out smoking and the rest are still not yet here. It's just me and Jose who are left in the room.
My phone rings, as I was about to answer, suddenly, someone slammed through the door. I fell on the floor while the man pulls a gun out of his hood and points it at Sam, Jose quick into action, pushed the guy making him shoot the ceiling. People started running and screaming.
Things get heated real fast as both of them try to take control of the gun, I quickly rushed in to help and punched him in the face, making him fall to the ground dropping the gun. I got on top of him and kept punching. I got off the man when I saw Arthur running with Officer Johnson. "Put your hands behind your head" yelled Arthur. He quickly went towards the man and cuffed him, then stood him up. I breathe heavily with a sigh of relief while checking on Jose if his ok.
Just then, the rest came back confused as to what happened since there are police around the area. Katie comes out of the room shocked to see the amount of personnel in the area. I asked the doctor in charge if we could take Sam home for her to be treated there instead of here in the hospital due to this incident. The doctor agreed and we immediately pack to move to the house as soon as possible to make sure everyone is safe especially Sam from her gunshot wound.
After half an hour of driving, we reach home and first took care of Sam and set up the medical equipment for her to be stable. I told them that I'll be going ahead to get some rest. I prepared the rooms for the others before I went to take a bath then straight to bed.
