SNOW FELL from the sky. Elle fascinated by this weather stayed near the window for 10 minutes just staring. God it was beautiful, she thought. Today was the day she left for Minnesota and while she was nervous the excitement outweighed it.
"Elle!"
"Coming!" Elle jumped of the hanging chair and ran downstairs.
"Good morning everyone", Elle said with a small grin on her face. Her younger brother was in his high chair and her step mother was cleaning dishes. Her father, like usual, was watching hockey news on the flat screen tv. Sometimes she thought he loved that tv more than he loved her.
"You ready for the trip?" Anna asked. Anna was Elle's step mother and Elle had a great relationship with her. After the ordeal with her mother and father Leonardo King found himself a worthy woman of loving and taking care of him and his family and Elle deeply appreciated having a mother figure like Anna in her life.
"Yes ma'am", Elle responded earning a chuckle from her father.
"But I'm gonna miss this little rascal", Elle reached out and squeezed her younger brother Adrian's. cheek making him erupt into laughter. Adrian wasn't Elle's full brother as they had different mothers but that didn't make a difference in Elle's book.
"Eeeee" the little boy said.
"What happened buddy?" Elle asked. Adrian raised his arms indicating he wanted to be carried. Elle complied and took the small boy out of the high chair. Adrian's laughter filled the air as Elle spun him around.
The bond the two siblings had was something unbreakable and Elle couldn't be any more happier to have such a cute little brother.
"C'mon kid we gotta get going", Leonardo said giving his wife and his youngest child a kiss on the forehead. Elle said goodbye and was out the door. She stood in the snow reaching out a hand and watching the snow flake dissolve from the warmth.
"Let's get this show on the road".
"MOM! WHERE'S MY STICK?!"
At the Hughes resident everything was quite chaotic at this point of the day. Jack packing last minute, of course, his two siblings running around the house playing throwing a football back and forth and his mother trying to clean everything.
"I DON'T KNOW JACK DO I USE IT?!" Ellen Hughes yelled out. Jack came into the kitchen with his puppy eyes silently pleading his mother for help.
"Check the garage" his mother sighed. A grin immediately replaced his frown and he ran in the direction his mother told him to go.
Once Jack was 90% sure he had all he needed he brought everything down to the front door and proceeded to say his goodbyes as he'd be gone till Christmas.
"You sure you have everything honey" Ellen asked.
"Yes mom I'm sure" jack said trying to walk out the door.
"Where's my kiss huh" Ellen said pointing to her cheek. Jack groaned and kissed her cheek murmuring an 'I love you' and he walked out the door.
"Let the sorry begin" jack breathed.
Something cold hit his face and he soon realized it was snow. "Stop being cringy and come on" his younger brother Luke said.
