Michael sat on the couch, toying with a pack of his cigarettes. He began dwelling on the thought of feeding his addiction. Michael was roughly 13 hours of being smoke free, and it was mentally draining. Chase walked out from the small kitchen and sat beside Michael on the tattered couch, taking the pack of cigarettes away from him. Michael let out a small sigh, and began tapping his foot anxiously.
"It's so hard to just stop smoking bud, it's on my mind constantly."
"I know, but once you quit this addiction we need to stop you from drinking so much. Trying to quit two addictions at the same time is too difficult, and would just make things harder." Replied Chase, putting the pack of cigarettes in his pocket to throw out later. Michael sighed, preparing himself to ask his little brother a very serious question.
"Why're you.. helping me? I've been so rude to you lately and yet, you still choose to help me and be kind to me." Said Michael, looking at chase.
Chase looked at Michael, putting a hand through his own hair.
"You're my brother, and I know you've been through some tough spots throughout your life alone, and I want to help you. I want to try and make your life better and have us be normal again." Replied Chase, placing a hand on Michael's shoulder and squeezing it.
Michael nodded, and smiled slightly in return.
"Thanks.. bud."
Chase smiled with his eyes closed, and stood up.
"Cmon, let's go for a walk. We have to be careful to not let people see you, but let's just go outside for a bit." Said Chase, pulling Michael up and off the couch.
Michael continued smiling and walked to the front door, putting on his black boots and his black jacket.
"Aight bud, I'd like that."
Chase went to the front door, and put on his black boots, and walked out of the house with his older brother.
