A/N: First of all, I know its been over a year since I've updated. I really am sorry and want to continue writing this story, which will hopefully have one more chapter after this and an epilogue. I appreciate those who keep on coming back and are patient with my extremely long hiatuses. Second, I'm aware that book 14 came out and since a lot happened in the Ice Kingdom then, I'm going to pretend that most of those events didn't happen simply because they don't align with my plan for the rest of my book. However, I'm going to try and base Lynx off of what Tui wrote about her more. Before it was all up for interpretation but now we have a general idea of her personality, interests and what she's like. Luckily, Tui and I both saw Lynx in a similar way so there shouldn't be too many changes ;) Thank you everyone for patiently waiting for over a year. Your support is incredible and it means a lot that you are still interested in this story and I promise it will be done within a few months. Thank you again and please enjoy!

Lynx's POV:

For the first time in her life, Lynx was cold. The icy snow stuck to her talons and seeped its way into her blue scales. The cold wind felt colder, and the freezing temperature caused her to shiver. But it wasn't the weather that was making her cold, it was the handsome dragon standing in front of her.

Lynx had never been all that special, she came from a upper middle class family, with no real connection to the throne or high ranked nobles despite the fact that she was fairly close to Prince Winter.  Every piece of love for him had been shoved down deep inside Lynx, unbearable to live with her emotions. But in this very moment, it all came tumbling out, and aiming straight for her heart.  She loved Winter, and she always had.

Winter reached out and picked up one of her cold talons, and held it very very carefully.

"Lynx," he softly said "I love you"

Lynx felt like her heart might explode. She was frozen in shock and happiness, nearly able to move or speak. Finally, she was able to gasp out "I love you too"

Winter smiled, his beautiful, perfect, charming smile and pulled her into a warm hug. Lynx's head collapsed on his shoulder and smiled to herself. She finally could admit to herself that this is what she always wanted. To be with Winter. Forever

After a minute, Winter pulled away from her, and gently touched Lynx's face, gazing into her eyes. "I want to be with you," he softly said, "But I can't live here. I can't stay"

Lynx felt her heart do cartwheels. She knew what he said was true. He was miserable in the Ice kingdom, and his choice of exile would never give him the ability to stay. Lynx  looked down at the crushed snow under her. "What are we supposed to do?" She whispered.

"Come with me." Winter said

Lynx looked up in surprise "Go with you?"

Winter looked up at the sky, "I'm leaving in a few days. You can come with me and live in Sanctuary. You can escape and be free with me. I have a house there, no one would judge you, there would be no pressure from the Queen or my family, you could explore the whole world if you wanted to." He looked back at her. "You don't have to decide now, just consider it. If you want to leave, then meet me here the night of my departure. We can go together." He gave her a long look with an unreadable look his his eye. With that, the prince soared up into the sky and disappeared into the clouds, leaving Lynx with a question she already knew the answer to.

Winters POV:

The next couple of days were a complete blur for the IceWing prince. He was forced to do the few royal duties he still had, witch included obsessive dinners, meetings, and organizations. Throughout the days, all Winter could think about was his itching desire to head home to head back to Sanctuary where he could continue working on his passion for the growing city. Finally, the day arrived when Winter was due to leave the Ice Palace.

The Ice Kingdom isn't well known for its uplifting, happy dragons. It was full of distrust, scheming, and betrayal, and Winter was happy to leave. He never wanted to come back. He never wanted to see his mothers cold look or the glares from the first circle dragons ever again. He wanted to go home.

"I'll miss you" Hailstorm said from beside Winter. "I hope to see you again."

Winter smiled. Hailstorm was one of the few dragons in the Ice Kingdom he cared about. He was going to miss his brother.

"Come visit me and Sanctuary next time you're in the area" Winter said "I could probably find you a nice mud pile to sleep in."

Hailstorm playful shoved his shoulder with Winters and gave him a smile. "You should get going, you don't want to overstay your welcome. You know how the queen is."

Winter smiled "Yeah I do, I'll see you around Hailstorm." With that, Winter flew off into the distance to the spot where hopefully Lynx would come too. When he got there, the place was deserted with not a living thing in sight.  Winter sighed as he landed. "I should wait here" he thought. With that, he sat down, looked at the direction of the palace, and patiently waited for the love of his life.
