PART 1
"Uraraka, there's something I need to tell you."
"What is it, Deku?"
"Hmm...how do I word this...?"
"Yes? What? Wh-what's wrong?"
"Oh, I'm just gonna come out and say it! Uraraka?"
"Y-yes Deku?"
"..."
"...?"
"You made me a latte by accident."
"H-huh? Wait, I did?"
Midoriya lifts up his cup with a sheepish expression. Uraraka takes a look inside and indeed it's a latte instead of his usual green tea.
"OMG! I'm so sorry!" She quickly (and carefully) takes it out of his hand. "I wasn't concentrating when I made this!" She sighs a bit at her mistake. "There were a lot of latte orders today so my hands must've just worked from muscle memory."
Midoriya laughs at her like he always does when she does something he finds cute. "It's okay, Uraraka, I understand. I just don't like drinking anything with too much caffeine in it during the night, or else I won't be able to sleep."
"Um, alright. Sorry again!" Uraraka bows apologetically before smiling and rushing off into the kitchen.
As she arrives there, her smile turns into a somewhat distraught frown, a nervous sweat falling down the side of her face. 'Why did I think he was going to say something else...?'
When she starts to feel dicouraged, Asui's wise words echo in her head.
"If you want Deku to start liking you for real, you have to make it clear to him that it's okay."
'Right, calm down Ochaco!' She tells herself, taking in deep breaths before letting them out. 'It's not over yet! You can still get him to like you! Just give out subtle hints!'
Feeling determined, she finishes the greenet's milkless and sugarless green tea and then struts out of the kitchen back to their usual spot.
'Alright! Let's do this!'
Midoriya is typing away on his phone, muttering incoherently words when Uraraka walks up and places his tea in front of him. He finally looks away from the screen to see the mug and smiles warmly at the brunette.
"Thanks. I'll be out like a light with this!"
Uraraka chuckles. "So you really go straight to bed when you get home."
Midoriya snorts, almost obnoxiously and the brunette finds it both surprising and adorable. "I wish," he said, rolling his eyes. "There's always something I have to deal with when I get home. The green tea just helps me not care as much as I should."
The eighteen year old laughs, "Wow, that sounds rough!" She smiles again as the man tells her how she has no idea.
It honestly made her realize how little she knows about Midoriya. He always seems to have something going on at home but she never knows if they're seriously troubling or not.
They've know each other for almost a month now and she kinda got used to him getting phone calls from people. It allows her a little peek into his life (she didn't like to pry, she prefered if he just told her if he wanted to). She actually finds amusement in how he responds to certain calls. He'd make such different expressions and his eyes especially would show whatever emotion he was feeling.
They'll widen in surprise or narrow in annoyance. They'll roll with sarcasm or blink in speechlessness. They'll sparkle with excitement (which was rare but cute) or close with exhaustion. Sometimes, they'll harden with agitation (which was a bit scary) or soften with understanding.
