Arianna was walking around the university when she saw Chaeyoung walk across the hallway in front of them, a very lost look on his face. So she ran after her sister, catching up to her right outside an empty classroom, which she dragged her in to. "Chaeng unnie, are you alright?"
Chaeyoung looked up at Ari, confused, seemingly unaware of anything around her. "She hates me," Chaeng said quietly and thoughtfully to herself like she was still trying to figure it out.
Aurora's heart sank down to her feet. This couldn't be good. "Who?" she asked quietly, though she already knew the answer
Chaeyoung finally seemed to notice Ari was there and looked at her oddly before she grimaced. Chaeng gave a choked sob and drew in a shaky breath before saying, "Were you a part of this?" Then she yelled, "Are you pretending to be my friend too so you can humiliate me?"
"Rosie unnie," Ari said with disbelief, her eyes filling with tears. It wasn't the question that made her sad but the realization that Jennie must've said that to Chaeng. Her sister was heartbroken and hers was hurting in response
Chaeng broke down and hugged Ari, sobbing into her shoulder, their roles reversed from two days ago. Arianna was at a loss as of what to do. She had never seen Chaeng cry before and had really never expected her to, let alone this desperately.
When Ari asked Chaeng what had happened she explained everything and told her exactly what she had said, every word etched into Chaeng's memory. "Unnie," Ari said sympathetically after Chaeyoung had finished.
"Sorry for accusing you of being in on it," Chaeng said, her knees drawn up to her chest as they sat on the ground with their backs against the wall.
"There's no it to be a part of," Arianna explained. "Jennie just said that in the heat of the moment. You know she didn't mean it, right?"
"Maybe not the whole pretending to be my friend thing," said Chaeng thoughtfully. "But she seemed pretty adamant about the fact that she hates me."
"She didn't mean that either," said Ari sincerely, trying to salvage whatever was left of the situation.
"Yeah," said Chaeng to appease his sister, though they both knew Chaeng didn't believe what she was saying at all.
"You should go to bed," said Arianna "I find it's always better to sleep off the tears."
"Good idea," said Chaeyoung, who really did look exhausted
They both stood up and Arianna gave Chaeng a quirky smile before saying, "Remember, love, makes people do stupid things."
And with that, she left, leaving Chaeng to think, 'Love? But I didn't do anything stupid...'

The next morning, Chaeyoung woke up and headed down to the Dining Hall for breakfast, her feet dragging. Chaeyoung didn't want to wake up and go down to breakfast and pretend everything was alright. She didn't want her chest to feel like it was going to break from the pain she was feeling when she saw Jennie sitting at the end of Enteil table by herself, poking at her food with little enthusiasm.
She spotted Mark and Irene and decided to sit next to them to get them to take on this. Before she could even sit down, though, the duo stood up, Mark grabbed Chaeng's hand and led her out of the Great Hall and into an empty classroom without saying a word
"It looks like it's time for your last lesson, Chaeng," Irene said quietly and sympathetically, a sad look on her face with Mark nodding

Chaeng walked forlornly through the halls, half-heartedly looking for Jennie. She really didn't want this conversation to take place...to admit defeat.
Unfortunately, it seemed that Jennie was looking for Chaeng, for she rounded a corner at breakneck speed and when she saw Chaeng she looked visibly relieved. "Rosie, I'm so sorry," she said with complete sincerity. "I wasn't thinking straight when I said those words to you...I'm sorry."
"I understand," Chaeng said, her stomach squirming as she thought about what she was going to do. "And I'm sorry about yelling at you too. I might have overreacted a bit." Jennie shook her head, about to tell Chaeng how she really felt about her. But Chaeng started talking again. "But now...I think if it hasn't happened by now, you'll never love me." Jennie opened her mouth to tell Chaeng otherwise, but she just kept going on. "So I've made my decision. It isn't right for me to keep pressuring you and it hurts so much for me to keep loving you without receiving anything in return, so I've decided to let you go. I hope you find happiness with someone else. Excuse me if I don't feel like being your friend anymore, because it hurts to have you so close but just out of my grasp." Jennie tried to speak, but her throat had closed up, her eyes filled with tears. Chaeng gave her a quirky smile, touched her hair, and said, "Your hair is beautiful."
And Jennie let Chaeng walk away, unable to find the ability to speak. Almost a minute after she had rounded the corner, Jennie softly whispered, "But I love you too."
