-Alex-

So today happened to be another day of scavenging for supplies. But what day isn't when you're in the middle of a zombie apocalypse?

Speaking of zombies, i haven't become one yet. Thats actually more concerning than the fact I got bit in the first place. I mean, from what I've seen, the change can range from the moment you're bit to 2 days at the latest. But it's been almost a week and i haven't turned yet. Maybe I'm just lucky and didn't get infected...

"Hey Alex!" John says, startling me slightly. "You're getting dangerously close to a pothole and I thought I should warn you."

"Right. Thanks." I mutter as I step over the broken asphalt. "You know, it's amazing how quickly the streets just fell apart once the virus spread."

John tilts his head curiously. "Waddaya mean?"

"I mean it's just weird to see everything in such disrepair after its only been, what, a month since the initial outbreak? Yet everything is just falling apart. Its just something I've never understood about zombie apocalypse type stuff."

"Guess it makes sense. If you watch any zombie movie or show, no matter the time skip, it always looks like a nuke went off."

"Right?" I couldn't help but smile. Its nice have someone to talk to about random crap like this. "And everyone is always in the woods. Like, when people start becoming undead cannibals, does the world just turn into one big fucking forest? And there's way less zombies than there should be. There's 7.8 billion people in the world... Why do they only show 4 people and 20 zombies?"

Jefferson cuts me off. "Would you shut up?! You're gonna attract them with your rambling" he scoffs.

"Well gee, I'm sorry, but I don't think some living corpse is gonna shamble over here because I'm tal-"

Something tackles me to the ground before i can finish. And of course, it just so happened to be a zombie.
I hate that Thomas was right

"Why the hell is this thing so strong?! Its dead!"

John pulls the zombie off of me as Thomas shoots it. "Are you going to listen to me now?"

I glance at the body on the ground. "Ah well, after almost losing my life just now, I'll consider shutting up next time..."

Thomas rolls his eyes before jogging towards a nearby store. John helps me to my feet and checks for bite.
"Are you sure you're ok?" He asks.

I shrug. "Why do you care about me so much? We've only known wach other a few days."

"Better to make friends than enemies in the apocalypse. And besides-"

"You guys better take a look at this!"
