"I LOVE THE QUEEN'S EXECUTION"

Kate's POV

I shifted uncomfortably in my shoes.

"This is gonna suck," I said to Jake. He gave me a reassuring smile and patted my back. We hadn't really been talking since we heard the news a week ago. I hated being so distant from my best friend but, it was out of my control by now. We were on our way to the 5SOS summer house in L.A. Surprisingly, it was only a five minute walk from the house I shared with my band. The meeting with 5SOS was meant to happen before my 'relationship' with the bassist, Calum, goes public.

We arrived at the house all too soon. Chris and Nick were already there so they answered the door to the 5SOS house and pulled us in. Everyone was in the pool, so I guess that explains why they told me to wear a bathing suit. I walked out onto the patio. Four eyes immediately turned to me.

"Uh hi.... I'm Kate."

"Holy shit," a boy with bright colored hair breathed, "I LOVE THE QUEEN'S EXECUTION." I smiled.

"Thanks. I wish I could say that I've heard of your band, but frankly, I haven't," Jake sneered. I elbowed him hard in the ribs and he gave them an apologetic look. Calum climbed out of the pool and I gawked at his body. Jake gave him a glare.

"So I'm guessing you're the other half of 'Katlum'?" He chuckled. I laughed and said,

"Uh yeah, but I prefer Kate. Or you can call me Kat, I guess."

"Well hi there Kat. I'm Ashton, and I play the drums. I'm from Australia. Oh wait, I guess you knew that from the accent. And you're American. Oh yeah, you knew that too, I'm guessing,"a boy with sandy blonde hair giggled. The boy with the colored hair slapped 'Ashton' on the neck. Another lanky boy with long blonde bangs blushed.

"Well uhm I'm Luke, and the mean one's Michael," the blushing boy explained. I nodded at him while looking around. Slowly, I took in all the boys. So these are the guys I'll be spending some time with from now on, I thought.

- 2 hours later -

"No way, you named him Ketchup?" I giggled. The 5SOS boys nodded eagerly and laughed. By then, Jake and Nick had gone home. Well Jake more like STORMED home while Nick didn't want to leave him alone. I still had no idea what was up with Jake lately, but I wasn't going to let that bother me. Calum and Luke were talking by the pool while I chatted with Michael and Ashton. Everyone so far seemed really cool. I'm pretty sure Mikey was gonna faint when I said that he was "way awesome" at guitar. Everything seemed cool for now, but I had no idea how to paps (paparazzi) would react to my new "relationship".
