It was a fine morning. For the first time, we had breakfast together. I hadn't done this in a long while. Leah drove her sons and I to their school.
"You know what, I think I should get you enrolled too for the mean time." Leah suggested. I thought about it for seconds and nodded.
She enrolled me in the school and immediately, I was given my uniforms and a locker. As much as I didn't want to go back, I started to miss my old school. The principal told me to start schooling officially the next week.
I hang out with Leah the whole day until her son came home from school. Augustus, but August for short, Leah's eldest son came to me in my room.
"Hey, care to play a video game?" He asked playfully.
" Sure!"
I beat him clean and August was just too marvelled.
"Where did you learn to play like that?" August's mouth was wide opened in shock.
"Oh I had video games at home to you know." I answered with a chuckle.
"I thought you lived with mean foster folks." He said, not quite sure if he was being polite.
I shrugged. "Umm...yes and no. They were filthy rich but had no time for me."
"Oh. So what school were you in?" He asked with much curiosity.
"BHS." I let out a long sigh.
"Woah...you're kidding right. I kinda had a thing with a girl in that school called Breah, but no more"
"Breah? No offense but Yuck!" I replied with total disgust laced in my voice.
"I know right!" We both laughed and August answered his phone call getting up and walking away.
I got up and walked away too. For some reason I end up the study. I saw Josh, Leah's younger son who seemed to be struggling with some homework. Knowing one or two things about math, I helped him out and he gave me a candy bar as appreciation. I swear that kid is so cute. After, I went to lay in bed trying to sleep but I couldn't sleep that night because I couldn't believe I had gone a full day without my life being threatened.
