Settle down

"Let go off me. What did you want Levi?" Clearly irritated by how he was pulling me along by my wrist.

"Is that an attitude you're giving me? Find a better one...you don't pull it off so well." The proud boy retorted.

I scoffed at his impudence.

"Cairo had you to himself during the whole of lunch. Now its my turn." He shrugged. What? Was this some kind of joke.

I yank my had from his grip and glare at him.

"Forget it...I just wanted to talk to you."I notice the drop in his facial expression.

"I'm all ears Lee." He smiles but the smile doesn't really teach his eyes.

"I need a favour Reigna." His voice dulled all of a sudden. I knew he wasn't joking because he called me Reigna. I held his hand and we continued walking home. Our house wasn't really close to our school but it never killed to walk.

"What is it?" I say with concerned curiosity. What's going on?

"I was thinking of going for most of my useful stuff from my real house this Saturday, settle here and move on." He paused."I just wanted you to go with me." He finished off with a loud sigh. Me?

And on Saturday? I already agreed to go watch Cairo's hockey game with Halsey. Turning down Cairo won't be fair to him and Levi's favour is equally important. I'll do both. "I'll go with you."

He nods and smiles at me. Silently, we make our way back home. Leah was already home when we got there. She called me to her room.

"Hey how was your day?"

"Okay." I answered.

"Okay?" She asked, not fully convinced but she went on anyway.
"Umm...did you ever try reaching your parents after the whole thing?" She asked.

"I- I couldn't." By asking that, she just opened a box I didn't want to open. Now I could feel tears stinging my eyes but it was past and I couldn't do anything about it, I said I wouldn't cry anymore.

I manage to blink my tears away and stare at the ground looking at nothing in particular.

"Why?" She asked softly. It takes me a while to answer this.

"I was only 6 years old Leah, not even knowing what abduction was...besides...besides, I just knew my parents Mama and Dada. As I grew, it was then I realised I had been stolen. My foster mum, she-she made me forget everything." I held back so much information. I didn't want to breakdown. I was too strong for this.

Leah gasps.

"But for sure, I know my foster mum knew nothing about my kidnap neither was she involved. She just took me in as a lost child who needed a home. All I remember is that where I was born, I don't know but it was a lot more different than where I was sent to. Well who knows, might have even crossed states." I go on and on.

"What's your foster mum's name again and address? I recall you lived in Delford, we need to speak to her. Maybe if she ever saw an article about a missing child or something, I don't know but we've gotta try." Leah insisted.

"Sophia Mertz...umm...she's in the uh asylum. She's not stable." I answered.

"But...you didn't mention that earlier." Leah asked confusedly.

"Sorry, it's just that I don't like to talk about her like that. And honestly, you'll get nothing from her." I pause.
"There was this one time that I raised this issue and she broke down in tears asking if she had wronged me or I thought she knew where my parents were but was hiding me from them. It was a whole mess."

"It's okay. We will talk later. I have to go get some groceries." She sighs with much disappointment.

"Yeah, then I'll be in my room." With that, I was off.

Ding! I felt my pocket for my phone. I barely used it since Leah got it for me. I only used it for music and on very rare occasions, texting Cairo texted me.

Cairo: Sup? Cairo here.

Me: well hi to you too. About to nap.

Cairo: *sarcasm has entered the chat*

Me: what do you want. I wanna sleeeeep.

Cairo: hold your horses. The hockey match is at Warshall stadium. See you there.

Me: Alright. See you.

Cairo: won't my crush wish me all the best.

Me: shut up. Bye!...zzz

I put of my screen and crawl in bed. I now regret accepting to go to the hockey game but I told myself I would overcome my agoraphobia. The fear of being at a crowded place. I became agoraphobic when my life was robbed from me at a crowded fair. I was convinced that bad things happen in crowds but I wouldn't let my fears control me.

It's another picture of Levi at the top.
And for those of you wondering, the name is pronounced
'Li-v-a-ee' and 'Rain-a'.
