PIPER
The girl looked up at the goddess with absolute hatred in her eyes, her Greek toga whipping across her legs in the intese wind. "You are the bane of my exsistance," she spat, pushing her brown hair out of her face violently.
"You are the most wretched soul since Gaea herself. I will spend my life trying to destroy you for what you have done. And you may not strike me down."
The goddess was angled as to where you could only see the back of her head, but she glowed with an aura of power.
"How dare you tell me what I can and cannot do? I am an Olympian! I will throw you into the depths of Tartarus!" Her words were strong, but you couldnt help the sense the slight tremor of horror in her voice.
The girl laughed cruelly, and the entire image faded away.
"Miss Piper?"
Piper gasped and sat up in her bed. Standing beside her was Monika Sain, a new demigod who had just made it to Camp Half Blood. The little girl was only eight, trembling beside Piper's bunk like she might be killed for interrupting the head counselor's sleep.
Piper rubbed her eyes and blinked. "Yes?"
Monika cracked her knuckles. "You were twitching. I wasn't sure what was wrong, so I just woke you up."
Piper ran a hand through her tangled hair. What was that dream all about?
"I'm okay, I was having a weird dream. Thank you, though." Monika nodded and retreated back to her bunk, just sitting there.
Poor kid, Piper thought. She'd been found in the lobby of some hotel being attacked by an angry Harpy, and she'd said she was an orphan. There was always something about her though. She was wise beyond her years in many matters. And preferred to be alone. Monika reminded Piper of Nico.
Piper realized that Monika hadn't been trembling, she'd been shivering. She was curled into a ball with her back against a wooden support beam, staring into nothing.
Piper glanced out of the window. It was light outside, but not quite. People would be waking up soon.
"Monika?"
The girl's head snapped up in an instant. "Yes Miss Piper?"
Piper laughed quietly. "It's just Piper. Where's you're blanket? You look cold over there."
"I gave it to Dray? Doo? D something. She said she slept next to a vent and someone had taken hers."
Piper gritted her teeth. Cabins had no ventilation. Drew.
Piper got up and shuffled over to a supply closet.
"Here," She said, tossing Monika a large quilt. "This should warm you up in no time."
Monika smiled gratefully and wrapped herself up.
"Thank you Miss Piper."
"It's just Piper."
"Yes Ma'am."
Piper slept until her alarm went off at eight. By then, a third of the Aphrodite cabin was up and arguing over who got the bathroom.
She knew she had things to do, but she just didnt feel like doing anything today. What was the point? She had no one to hug, since Jason was at Camp Jupiter. Stop feeling sorry for yourself! Her conscience scolded. You have more than anyone could ask for.
It was true in a way, but in actuality..she was bored.
Yes, Camps Half Blood and Jupiter were fun, but not as much fun as they'd had on the Argo II. Those were the days. Fighting monsters, killing giants, almost dying, what fun. Piper wasn't an adrenaline junkie, but she sure craved adventure every now and then, and none of that had happened recently.
It was hard to explain, but on the Argo II she'd felt helpful and needed, and she had a purpose. Now after all the excitement had died down, she spent a lot of time doing nothing.
She remembered her dream from last night. But it made no sense. A mortal yelling at a goddess. She was probably already in the fields of punishment. That, however, was no explanaion for the fear in the immortal's voice.

"Hey Pipes!" A cheery voice called. "Buenos Dias, Guten Morgen, how are ya?"
Piper turned to see Leo bounding towards her from the Hephestus cabin.
She smiled fakely.
"Good, what about you?"
Leo was almost right in front of her, but he paused.
"Somethin' wrong Pipes? I'm getting bad vibes from you."
Darn it. Piper thought she was being convincing.
She sighed and looked at Leo.
"I've been kinda bored, you know? Like, there's no adventure anymore."
Leo considered this for a second, before looking her in the eyes seriously.
"You are officially insane Miss McLean." Then he broke his poker face and laughed.
Piper tried to join in, but her heart wasn't in it.
"Yeah," she started, "That's kinda weird. I'm extra ADHD I guess."
"Join the club, Beauty Queen."
