KAY
Kay woke up in a mental facility. She could tell because she was strapped down to a hospital bed with loads of IV's stuck into her arms.
Three worried nurses leaned over her, but immediately backed up once Kay opened her eyes.
"She's up," A nurse on her right shouted urgently. Suddenly, people rushed forward, and she was being held down by four pairs of strong hands.
"Um.. why am I in an asylum?" Kay croaked, her throat dry. "And can I have some water?"
The nurses looked at her in bewilderment, and one scribbled stuff down in a clipboard.
The same lady who had announced she had woke spoke up.
"You don't remember what happened?"
She tried to think back, but she was met with a searing headache.
"Ow, no I don't."
Another nurse took a slight step closer, as if Kay might rip his face off if he came too close.
"Yesterday your mother brought you in. You were hysterical, going on about..."
He paused uncomfortably and scratched his arm.
"Tell me," Kay demanded trying to sit up, only to be pushed down by some buff looking people.
"Well," the third nurse began, unafraid. "You were screaming and scratching and flailing around. You kept saying 'My mother will come back', and whenever someone came near you, you attacked them."
Kay squirmed. These people were obviously crazy.
"Okay," she said. "That's enough. Bring out the cameras or whatever. I know I'm being punk'd."
But as Kay saw the pity in their eyes, she realized that in fact, this was very real.
"Do you remember your name? Your mom's name?"
"Kay North, and Trinity North."
Kay's throat seemed to stick together.
"Can I please have some water? I won't bite."
The nurse who had finished talking murmured in disagreement.
Finally, the one male nurse gave her a paper cup with water, and her restraints were taken off, but the.. holder people.. kept close.
Kay chugged down every last drop, and she was about to ask for more until something crashed in a separate room.
"Code red!" someone yelped "The kids in section 5 have broken out and are setting things on fire!"
All at once, every one in the room fled towards the commotion, except for the nurse who gave Kay a rundown of her life.
The nurse looked her levelly in the eye, and started removing the IVs out of her arms.
"Does this mean I can go home now?" Kay asked stupidly. If only she'd known.
"In a way." The nurse replied without looking up from the IVs she was tearing through.
Once they were all out, the nurse helped Kay out of her bed, and took off her own cap, revealing two spiraled horns.
Kay froze with her mouth wide open.
The nurse then continued to take off her pants, which revealed two.. Goat legs?
She kicked them aside and slung a backpack across her shoulders.
"Do you want to be stuck here forever Kay North?"
Kay shook her head yes, still in shock. Maybe she belonged in an asylum
"Look," The half nurse half goat said quickly.
"We don't have much time, and I know this is weird, but you have to trust me."
Go, a voice echoed Kay's head.
Okay, now Kay was sure she belonged here, but for some reason, she felt like she had to trust the that eerie echo.
"Uh ok?"
"Good, now follow me. Oh and i'm Lana."
