Chapter 12

We were on the bed and had decided to have a Halloween movie marathon.

Much to Shane's protest.

We were about halfway through Halloween 5 when Shane said "We should probably get going."

"You have been saying that since we started watching the movie." I say when I turn to look at him.

He smiled when he said "Yes, but this time i'm telling the truth."

"How do you know?"

He vanished without saying a word.

I turned back around and went back to watching Halloween 5. I figured he would return whenever he was done with whatever he was doing.

"They're gone." He said when he flashed back in.

"That was fast." I said looking at the clock it had only been about 3 minutes.

"Yeah well... Time goes by fast when you don't have to walk to your destination."

"How nice." I say as I get up to grab my clothes.

"No time." He said as he grabbed my hand. And before I knew it we were back at his house. Only this time it was pitch black. It took my eyes a while to adjust to the darkness. Shane had let go of my hand and I guess was searching.

"Shane i'm in my pajamas." I say trying to find him in the dark. I can feel the fear setting in of what we were doing.

"So?" He says. His voice is so close I felt like he was right next to me. But I couldn't feel him.

"You look funny." He said laughing as he came closer to me.

When he grabbed my hand I could feel myself instantly start to relax.

"Can we turn on the light?" I ask even though I already know the answer.

"No, The neighbors will see and call my parents.. or worse the police. I'm gonna lead you toward where we hide the flashlights in case of a hurricane." He said taking my hand and leading me straight.

I kept following Shane's lead until I felt my hand hit what felt like a knob on a dresser.

"You know you could of told me that we were almost here." I said as I pulled on the knob to open the drawer.

When I started digging through the drawer Shane said "I liked leading you." based on his voice I could tell he was being sarcastic.

About the time I found the flashlight. I immediately shined the light in Shane's direction. But he wasn't there.

"Boo" Shane said from behind me.

I felt my heart instantly drop. "You scared the hell out of me!" I half screamed.

He died laughing "Shhh your going to wake up the neighbors." He said in between laughs.

"You didn't think I knew what you were going to do?" He said looking directly at me.

"I didn't know you saw what I was doing in the drawer. I tried to hide it." I said trying to defend myself

"Well you failed." He said as he started walking away from me.

He lead me into one of the bedrooms I shined the flashlight to see the whole room clearly.

"Who's room is this?" I say waiting on him too go forward so I can go in the room as well.

"This is my room." He says still standing at the door way.

"I remember the last thing I ever did in here was stand in front of that mirror and take a picture of myself for Instagram. Do you wanna know what my last caption was?" He said looking at me waiting for me to respond
