~•~ Before the S-Class trials ~•~
"Hey Freed!"
The green-haired mage smiled fondly upon hearing the voice call out. He turned slightly in his chair to watch your figure come nearer, the wooden desk in front of him had various books and writing utensils strewn across it.
"Yes, Y/N?"
"When can I start practicing my magic more?" You asked curiously, hoping for the answer you wanted to hear. You're a light mage, which is a powerful kind of magic if strengthened enough. At the moment though, you couldn't do very much. You're only really able to blind people for a few seconds, do some minor healing and maybe cause someone to stumble if you threw a ball of light towards them. That said, you wanted to become much stronger in order to help your brother, you felt bad that he was doing most of the work.
On the other hand, Freed's smile faded as soon as the question left your lips. He wanted you, his precious 11 year old sister, to stay out of harms way as much as possible, so his idea was that if he didn't let you practice as much, then you'd begin to lose interest in magic and pursue something else you love. Perhaps writing, you've always enjoyed that along with reading.
"Soon. Not now though, we've got to head to the guild, they're informing us on who's going to the s-class trials" His words disappointed you for a second but then the rest of his statement caught your attention. You knew just how strong and smart your older brother was, you figured he had a good chance.
"Oh... Okay! Well, I'm sure you'll get in!! You're the best" You cheered, putting your desire to practice to the side in order to remain cheery for your brother.
"I'm glad you think so" He said, smiling lightly as he grabbed your hand, tugging you lightly as you head towards the door "Let's head to the guild now then"
~•~ At The Guild ~•~
"- Freed Justine -" Makarov called out while naming those who would be attending the s class trials
You squealed and immediately latched onto your brother, tears flowing freely down your face in excitement. Freed returned the hug, arms wrapping around your small frame.
~•~ Night before the Trials ~•~
You knew the trials would take a couple weeks to complete, so before he left, you wanted your brother to tell you a story. Although it may sound somewhat childish, it was something that was special between the two of you, something that really connected you both, something that no one else would understand.
You tried to be as quiet as you could while walking to his room, knowing that he was most likely reading many different spell-books in order to be able to create only the best of runes. He wanted to make you proud to call him your brother, even though you already were.
Giving three knocks to the door, you waited. Not long after, came a gentle reply saying 'come in' in which you followed. Opening the door that gave a small creak, you stepped inside, and, as you predicted, he was sitting at his desk with various open books laid out.
"Freed?" You asked softly, it was fairly late out and you were supposed to be in bed by now. However, he knew you were nervous so he let it slide and replied with a small hum. Since he had been busy, you shyly asked "Can you tell me a story?"
