You were sitting in your room, comforting her, or at least trying too. Your mom died a month ago, and she was lashing out at everyone, but not you. Of course you were taking it just as hard, but you were five years older than your young, naïve, five year old sister, but you had to be strong. For her.

Anyways, your father was up to it again, he acted like you guys didn't exist. You were sitting on Lucy's bed comforting her, she had made him something, only for him to destroy it.

"Why d-does he hate us so much?" She asked you in between sobs

"I don't know. But you have to remember, Mom's...." You couldn't finish the statement but continued anyways "is hurting him as much as it is us"

"R-Really?" She asked, hugging you and you rest your hand on her back, rubbing circles.

"Yes, even though he doesn't show it like a normal person" You reply, looking out the window, the only light was the moonlight pooling into the room. "You should get some sleep now, night Lulu"

"Night (Y/N/N)" She said snuggling under the covers as you gave her a sisterly kiss on the forehead. She then sleepily mumbled "Love you"

"Love you too" you said chuckling, slipping under the sheets.

After about ten minutes of just laying there, making sure she was asleep, you got up and tip toed to your closet. Sitting there, on the top shelf, was a suitcase. Full of clothes, a couple books, a canteen filled with water and some snacks. That's right, you were planning to run away.

But as you reached up to grab it, the wooden floor below you, squeaked.

"Shoot." You whisper looking over at Lucy, and thankfully, she was peacefully asleep. "That was a close call"

You reached back up and grabbed the suitcase, setting it on your bed as you put shoes on. You were opening up the window when a small voice stopped you

"(Y/N)? What are you doing?" She asked sitting up from her lying position

"Just getting some cool air in here, go back to sleep" you say walking over to her

"What's up with the suitcase?" She ask wiping her eyes

"Oh I-I'm going on an adventure! But don't worry I'll come back, just close your eyes, the sun is going down, you'll be alright. No one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I will be safe and sound" you tell her as you tuck her back in

"You better bring me a souvenir" She said in her sassy sleepy state, flipping on her side

"Okay" you say laughing lightly as you kissed her cheek "Love you Lulu"

"I love you too (Y/N/N)" she said falling into a dream state, thinking that you're just bluffing and that you'll be there to play dolls with her in the morning.

But when she woke up, you weren't sleeping peacefully in your bed. You weren't there at all.

"But Linthia!! I wanna keep training!" You puff at the white and gold light dragon before you

"That's good (Y/N) but you mustn't push yourself" Linthia said shaking her head slightly

"But I need to be strong!! " you huff sitting down on a rock

"But darling you are already strong, don't forget your the apprentice of the queen of Dragons" She scolded and you nodded but the frown didn't leave your face "What's wrong darling?"
