Azi Fell was just the typical young man, so full of love and life. Anthony was a hard drinker, he was the towns buffoon and drunkard. The only reason Anthony changed his ways was when a young bright shining boy arrived in their town, Mr. Fell. Anthony idolized the man. He even help set up the young man's house. He also he showed him around, and in return, of no power but his own, Anthony stopped drinking.
People took note in Anthony's new found 'rebirth' is what people called it. After so many years of being a drunk man in the town Anthony was now a respected villager. Anthony took part in town festivals and holidays, he often spent every single one with Azi. Anthony soon came to realize he was madly in love with the man. Regardless of people's opinions and views, Anthony desperately wanted this man to love him.
Anthony's obsession with the man only increased daily, as he was able to visit Azi regularly. Anthony was very helpful to the young philosopher. Anthony always brought the adorable man new books, ones of space, ones of mysteries, and Azi's favorites, ones of mythological creatures. Anthony wasn't big into anything, he was only into Azi. Anthony spent day upon day at his home, week upon week, year upon year.
The one time he messed up everything was when he let it slip out during a wonderful cup of tea with Azi "I love you Azi" Azi only laughed it off, he thought Anthony was joking but when he looked at the man, he wasn't kidding. That's when everything changed, Azi stopped letting Anthony over, he was too weirded out by the man to be anywhere near him. Azi burned all the books Anthony brought, except 1, Azi couldn't bring himself to burn the one book he loved so much. The one book that had him yearning for a sequel, the one book with so much connection and meaning to him.
Following days were lonely for Mr. Fell, he spent 4 days alone, lost in his books and thoughts. Mr. Fell thought it'd be nice to get outside and clear his head so he went into his back yard and knelt in the grass. Azi took in the nice fresh air, breathing in deeply and exhaling softly. Mr. Fell felt relaxed and refreshened from this entire experience, but all good things come to an end.
Anthony appeared in his back yard with flowers, Azi saw the man and became furious. Azi refused the flowers, he refused Anthony's company, and when he was kissed he slapped the man. Azi felt disgusted, sick to his stomach, he yelled at Anthony and ran inside, locking his door. Azi stayed by his fireplace all night, watching the fire, it was dancing around the wood so gracefully. Azi sighed "why can't my life be as graceful as a beautiful flame"
Azi awoke the next evening, a massive fire had engulfed his house. Azi panicked and ran out the back door into the forest, it was his only escape from the raging flames. Azi tripped on some thick branches. Azi rubbed his cheek softly and groaned. When he looked up and saw 2 men standing there with crazy smirks on their face. Azi tried to get away but instead was beaten "we don't like faggots" Azi was confused because of the fact that he was straight. Anthony's presence with the flowers was seen by these men. The two men took it into their own power to punish Azira for his crimes. The blows to his body hurt him significantly. The bruises, the blood, the broken bones, they all hurt the man but one that hurt the most was a sharp pain to his side; he felt the warm liquid dripping out of his body. The warm feeling came over him when the knife was pulled out of him.
"Anthony!!" Azi screamed for him with all his might, hopeful for anyone, he needed help now. Azi didn't want to die because he wasn't ready to go yet, there was so much he hadn't done with his life. Azi was sobbing, robbed of his life at age 24. Anthony heard the screaming and bolted into the forest, Azi's favorite book in his arms "Mr. Fell!!" He came to a clearing where his foot sunk in a puddle of blood. Anthony dropped to his knees where his dead best friend lie in the grass. Anthony whispered words of promise and sealed it with a kiss a final kiss. The two men were disgusted by this act, they had hidden in the brush to see what Anthony would do and when they saw him kiss another man in front of their eyes. They knew they'd hit the jackpot, killing two homosexual men versus killing one. The man with the gun snuck up on Anthony from behind "I damn you to hell faggot"
BANG
Anthony dropped face down, lifeless besides his best friend. The other man picked up the book and laughed "a book about an angel and demon falling in love!" The men cackled, they got a kick out of the contents of the book.
When Azi and Anthony were found the next day, grief had struck the town. Azi was found face up with his arms spread out along the grass, like an angel. Anthony was found half burned, residue of paper found besides him. The previous night, two men had drenched the book in liquor and lit it up, they had thrown it by Anthony and watched the homosexual man burn. The towns people had a memorial and graves made in their honor. Those graves lie in the towns square for all to see, the reminder of their fallen loved ones.
That's where Crowley stood, thousands of years later, he stood at their graves. Crowley placed a beautiful bouquet of flowers on Anthony's grave and another copy of the angel and demon book on Azi's grave "now I can put to peace with this memory, I can move past this" he smiled softly "I kept my promise, I never intend on breaking it" he turned and walked away "Azi" he whispered, the soft smile grew to a bright one on his lips "my new promise will be to protect you from all dangers of this world and to make sure you never come close to falling ever again, as long as we exist through eternity" Crowley looked up to the bright sunny sky, he closed his eyes 'I promise'
