PREVIOUSLY ON NINJAGO--

   While the ninja search for a place to train Lloyd, Garmadon accidently resurrects a dead pirate captain. The captain captures Garmadon and starts to plunder Ninjago city! The ninja and Lila save Darreth from The Captain Soto, Lloyd learns spinjistu. The ninja find out that Lila once sailed the seas with none other than their adversary! Garmadon once agan steals their ship but next time, the ninja will be ready.

After the ninja and Lloyd, Lila swirls in with her black spinjitzu with her hood on and jumps in the air, flapping her wings and hovering. She clenches and opens her hands, her arms swirled with black and purple magic, in her left hand are droplets of water, small stones and lighting. In her left are shards of ice, balls of fire, and swirls of wind. She grins and tosses off her hood, her purple eyes glowing. After Nya and Wu are finished and everyone is together Lila is sitting with Wu in the front, Lloyd behind her putting his hands on her head. She sticks her tongue out at the camera and winks, going back to smiling before it goes into the episode.

  I sit in the coner of the Dojo, meditating. In the middle of the room Lloyd is being coached by Jay on how to harness his powers, using lightbulbs. He had broken nearly all of them and that was his last one, he was getting agitated. I shifted as he concentrates, power welling up in him and affecting me too. I slip deeper into my meditative state.

"Focus Lloyd. Control the power inside you. When you feel a surge welling up.... harness it." Jay directs him and I crack open an eye to watch him. He nods his head and turn back to the lightbulb.

"I understand. I am in control." He scrunches up his face and I inhale sharply, the phase so familiar....

FLASH BACK

"Don't worry. I'm in control." I say, grinning as the knives twirled above my head.

"Lila! Lila stop! I'm scared. It's scary!" The little boy, a little younger than me begs. He had golden eyes opposed to my silver, tan skin opposite to my nearly white, and blond hair opposed to my black. He looked about five, and me seven. Knowing we were both older than that. Me- 70 and he 50.

"Don't worry little brother, it's okay. Here, you try. You are always in control." I float the knives down and he slowly reaches out his hand, grasping the knife. He blinks and slowly floats it in the air, grinning as he takes control and becomes more confident.

"See? It's okay. You just have to be more confident." I grin at him and he beams back, the sand around our feet shifting as roars and snarls echoed around us. The sounds of home.

"I understand. I am in control."

FLASH BACK END

"ARGH! Stupid lightbulb!" I open my eyes, glassy with small tears as the lightbulb shatters. He berates the other ninja and I sigh, giving up on meditating with my mind so full. I stand up slowly, Lloyd breezing to the other side of the room and hitting the punching bag with a broom he was supposed to be using to clean up.

"What am I doing wrong Sensei Wu? I can't seem to teach him to control his power." Jay sighs, defeated. I smile, putting my hand on his shoulder, using the other to float the pieces of glass into the trashcan with a wave.

"It took years for me to realize and control my power. I had more time than him. He's only ten, remember that." I say, as the ninja turn from watching Lloyd to watch me. Wu comes up next to me and continues.

"Indeed. Patience Jay. Sometimes the greatest opponent we face is ourselves, and that's especially true for Lloyd. Remember where he came from. He's the son of Lord Garmadon. It's going to take time for him to embrace the light." He tells Jay, leading him away.
