Chapter 4

"Madison. I need to tell you something too."

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry for what happened earlier...I was just—crazy."

"Nice. I mean—it's ok?" Not really.

"I was a fight with my sister this morning. Please forgive me. Since tomorrow is your birthday, I'm giving you a new phone. Here. The new I phone X. Just for you. It's a replacement for your smashed phone." He handed me the phone, still in its box.

"Thank you, Marco." OMG! Tomorrow is my 17th birthday! I already forgot! I flung my arms around him. Even though he treated me badly this afternoon, I guess I COULD forgive him...

He pulled away from me. "Hey Mad! I'm starving, and it's getting late! Do you want to go to the Royal Crabs now? It's already 8!"

"Sure!" My stomach grumbled. God, I was hungry. It was about a 10 minute walk from the bay to the restaurant. A man with a huge mustache greeted us.

"Hello, welcome to the Royal Crabs! My name is Brunetti Rebeth, and I will be your waiter today. Is it just you two?"

"Yes!" we both said.

"Okay! That will be a 5 minute wait! Your number is 34" He smiled at us.

"Hey Maddy, do you want to play truth or dare?"

"Sure! You ask me first."

"Okay, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Is it really true that you like me?"

"Yes..." I blushed. "Okay. Truth or Dare?"

"Truth."

"Is it true that you think that Mrs. Garith is mean?"

"No, she's nice! She likes to joke around sometimes."

"Ok, truth or dare?"

"Dare." I felt nervous for some reason.

"I dare you to—kiss me." He tapped on his cheek

"What?"

"C'mon! You know what I said!" I stood on my toes and quickly kissed him.

"Okay..."

"NUMBER 34" the man from earlier screamed. Marco raised his hand. The man led us to a table with a candle and flowers. He pulled out the seats. "Here you go, madam and sir.

"Thank you, kind sir," Marco said. He bowed to the man. We sat down at looked at each other. "Let's see the menu!" He flipped through the pages, carefully reading each page. "Oooh! Today's special is, 'Lobster tail with butter.' "Do you want to try it?"

"I guess so." A few minutes later, the man walked up to us.

"Hello, sir, madam. Are you ready to order?"

"Yes, may we have today's special please? Two orders."

"Ah, excellent choice. Just that. Any drinks?"

"Yes, two hot waters." He nodded at me.

"Okay. 2 servings of today's special and two hot waters."

"Yes, please," we both said. The wait was suprisingly fast. In about 5 minutes, the came out with 2 plate with lids on it. He opened the lids and revealed steaming, hot, dark red, and long lobster tails. The aroma spread all around. I sniffed the air.

"Shall we feast?" he asked.

"Yes!" Marco and I exclaimed.

I took some of the tail and peeled the shell. The meat was smooth and shiny. I took a bite.
