Steve had been drinking a couple of beers it shouldnt have been affecting him in anyway. He had gotten more than a mild buzz going and was enjoying himself. He kept looking over at Jenny and wondering if she ever had been totally messed up and let her guard down. Too bad that the TV was broken, they wouldnt be able to watch the game. Even though he knew Jenny had been feeling something, he felt like it was time to play one of the games they brought and see what happens. For whatever reason he wanted Truth or Dare more than anything. He wanted to see if anyone would dare him to make out with Jenny. He hoped so. He couldnt explain it. There was a feeling that kept telling him to start a game of truth or dare. Hey, lets do a game of truth or dare first. He grabbed the notecards and pens. Nothing sexual, nothing illegal and nothing that we wouldnt do sober. Everyone agree? There were a couple of boos but nothing major. They had come when he said nothing sexual. They all knew that there would be someone who would put something minorly sexual in there. Their games usually had a sexual overtone at some point.
Jenny looked up. She couldnt believe what she was hearing. No, in fact she did believe what was being said, they didnt care about it they just wanted to have fun. They would never learn that there was a reason that she said what she did. Now they were going to push it again. Stupid. She had just told them that she wouldnt be playing. It seems that they were going to go ahead with it. If she did the questions, she would be hated by all. Best to stay out of it. I am staying out of this. Sorry, there is no way that I am playing the
Static started crackle on the TV. They had been bitching about it a few minutes ago. They had all seen the broken screen and the fact that it was off. Everyone turned. Everyone plays everyone plays ... everyone plays, or everyone suffers. A sick and twisted voice said. It was coming from the TV. Everyone looked at each other. They laughed for a minute. It was a good gag. Whose voice had said that. Creepy as hell, perfect to set the mood. Who did Jenny hire to make that happen? Why did everyone had to play? What was wrong with Jenny sitting it out?
Mike looked at Jenny. Good one Jenny. Let me guess, you arent going to accept responsibility for that. Are you seriously going to try that on us? How did you manage it? Who did you hire to say that? They are a good voice actor. They went over and looked at the TV to see if there was a hidden recorder or something.
What? Honestly?! Go fuck yourself – I didnt do that. Why the hell would Jenny had a pissed look on her face. How dare they accuse her of doing something like that?
Suddenly she got a mental image of a man walking on the desert toward her. Tall, dark hair, dressed in traditional Ancient Egyptian garb, walking barefoot. You had told them of the warnings. The temple has insisted that you play. They are not listening. Time for the games to begin. The man said in ancient Egyptian then vanished. She began to scream. There was blood all around her on the desert sands. Then she was in the house with blood around her. Terror gripped her. The image vanished and there were the other members of the group. They were all staring at her like she was a freak having a spaz over nothing important.
Steve was there, shocked. He had seen her freaked before, but this was like nothing that he had ever seen. She had a terrified look on her face. Somehow, he couldnt help but think it was all an act. A way to get attention. What the fuck! Jenny you are seriously losing it. Jenny, you need to stop with the bull shit. he said. You want to be a bitch that is fine but cut the crap.
I saw something. I cant explain it, but this place has been waiting for us to come here. We need to leave. Its not safe. This place wants us here. Steve you have to believe me. Tears of fear ran down her face. She was out of there even if she had to walk in the rain. Screw this. She went to run for the door, but a thunderclap knocked her down. The building shook from the vibration. The lights flickered. The windows rattled from the noise.
