"come on brett, it'll be fun! we can go on all the rides and get cotton candy together. just the two of us!" eddy begged. he's been bugging him about the christmas carnival fair for the past week. eddy knew the carnival fair was really more for kids or teens and they were full grown men, but it still wouldn't hurt to go.

"nah, don't wanna." brett answered.

"it's been a while since the both of us went out. plus, we can take a break from filming videos and practicing." eddy said, hoping that mentioning a break would tempt the other man to go out.

"we can just take a break by staying in and watching movies or something." brett flatly replied while scrolling through his phone. eddy frowned at his response and sank back into his seat. he took out his phone from his pocket to scroll through instagram and kill time. this caught the older man's attention, immediately making him feel bad. brett hesitantly put his phone back in his pocket and got up from his seat.

"what time do they let people in?" he casually asked while grabbing his violin and eddy's. the taller man's face lit up like a candle in a dark room. he had that classic crooked wide smile which always made brett's heart stop beating every time he saw it.

"yayyy! let's go!! they should be letting people in by now!!" eddy exclaimed as he jumped up from his seat on the couch. he grabbed his purple case from brett's hands and unlocked the door, feeling the cold winter air hitting his face. brett had a dumbfounded smile plastered on his face as he watched eddy put his shoes on and skipped out the door like a little boy.

as the shorter man put his shoes on, he looked up and let out a snort when he saw eddy almost trip on the pavement from skipping around. eddy turned around to look at brett with a sharp glare before bursting out laughing,  brett locked the door and jogged over to eddy to catch up with him. they continued to walk together in silence until eddy reached out and grabbed brett's right hand. brett tensed up, feeling his cheeks turn pink. eddy looked over at the smaller man with a smile and gave brett's hand a little squeeze before looking away.

"wow, it's so..." brett began as the duo stepped into the mildly crowded area, his eyes scanning the place as if he had just entered an entirely new dimension. the place was filled with beautiful sculptures of christmas lights and decorations. little kids ran by, cotton candy sticking to their faces and their small hands. people screaming and yelling from the adrenaline-filled rides. the sound of darts popping water balloons, the soft hum of people talking and laughing, and cheesy christmas music filling the chilly air. it was like nothing he had ever seen or heard before. the sight had been so jaw-dropping to him that he had forgotten his words.

"colorful?" eddy finished off.

"yeah haha, i don't remember carnival fairs being this colorful." brett commented.

"you don't remember a lot of things, you grandpa." eddy giggled, lightly shoving brett.

"shut up." brett pouted as if he were a young child.

"never." eddy sarcastically smirked. "anyways, what would you like to do first?"

"you're the one who wanted to come here, you should choose." brett remarked.

"i'll choose the next activity or something. besides, i want you to have a good time here too." suggested the younger man.

"fine, uhm." he paused. "i'm not sure." the shorter man put a hand to his chin while shifting his dark brown eyes around for anything with a short line of people. "how about that?" he pointed a calloused finger to a large swirling teacup ride.
