Wow

It was the next day, and we had arrived at the show. In the Hunter/Jumper I had gotten 2nd, Heather had gotten 1st, Jack 3rd. Now it was cross country time.

The dressage classes had already ended, and the others had down good. I turned to Jet and patted him, "Ya ready?" I mounted up, and Callie called, "Good luck!" As Jack and I made our way to the cross country course. I was the last person to go, Jack was 2nd to last.

I watched as they went, sucking the air in. Finally, it was my turn. Jack was in 2nd right now. And I was off, flying. He stretched into a gallop, and we soared over the jumps. A river-like-jump appeared, and Jet's ears pinned. He hated them. I closed my leg, fixing my eyes ahead. Much to my suprise, he went faster, leaping large over it. I swung him around, heading towards the last few jumps. Up and over. Now the last one.

I leaned forward, adrenaline rushing through me as Jet lifted up. We had finished! I hadn't realized I'd been holding my breath, and quickly let it out, glancing at the scoreboard.

I narrowed my eyes, turning again to the board.

"YOU WONNNNN!" I could see Callie doing a happy dance, and I grinned.

"Good boy, good boy."

I congratulated Jack, he got 3rd, and we congratulated the 2nd place Rider.

I put Jet away in his stall, and I heard someone enter.

"Hey." I heard a soft voice, and I turned to see two, soft sea blue eyes locked with mine.

"Hey!"

"Good job."

"You too, Amber was great. And Jet was perfect for me! He didn't act green!" I grinned.

Jack walked towards me, and before I knew what was going on his lips were on mine, I was stunned. I waited a few seconds, then kissed back. I pulled away, grabbing his hand. "Sorry, but I have a man." I said jokingly, pointing at Jet. 

"Well, I have a girl." 

"Nah, I think Amber and Jet like each other. And plus, why would such a great horse like Amber love you?"

We laughed.
