like i said in the title, these are headcanons. i'm not saying this is how seventeen actually feel i'm simply saying that these are things that seventeen could be feeling / could be insecure about. besides lol what do i know im like 8

seungcheol: it's burdening being a leader and seungcheol knows that all too well. i wouldn't be surprised that seungcheol often feels insecure about his abilities as a leader to the group. the members often joke about him not always being like a leader and being more like a younger member of the group and i think there are times in which that can go to his mind and really take over him. of course he realises all he's accomplished but it can be very hard being that young and feeling so responsible for so many things. seungcheol often presents himself as being cool and relaxed and jokes along with his members but i'm sure that a part of him often really worries about how he's doing his job and whether or not his members are truly happy. not to mention how seventeen are often said to have a weak rap line, as the leader of the group and the hip hop unit it must be hard to work so hard on his abilities as a rapper / help his members when people still discourage them

jeonghan: since predebut and till this day jeonghan is often said to not be the most vocally talented member of the group and people often have doubts about his skills as a singer. jeonghan has obviously improved over the years and he may not have always been as good as he is now and im sure he really feels that sometimes. jeonghan has made a clear effort in the past to make himself known for his visuals and for his devilish tricks on the members. he, unlike seokmin or seungkwan, hasn't been very keen on making himself known for his vocals. i feel like jeonghan knew that his vocal abilities were not the best and that its possibly a long-running insecurity of his. jeonghan much like seungcheol also has the responsibility of being an elder member of the group and looking after the younger members and he also has to shoulder the burden of looking after his members to the best of his ability. jeonghan is also often slept on when it comes to his abilities as a dancer. people don't really see jeonghan as a performer sometimes and that is so extremely unfair but im happy to see him step out of his comfort zone and take on more dancing solo/duet parts with members to really let him shine.

jisoo: jisoo i feel is very similar to jeonghan. both of them have had their vocals looked down on in the past and even to this day. but i feel like a bigger insecurity of joshua's could have to do with his presence in the group. there's the running gag of joshua being forgotten by the vocal team members and i feel like honestly joshua could easily feel left out of the vocal team if not the entire team. the vocal team is the only subunit that has five members and in every kpop group, there's always, unfortunately, one 'forgotten' member. it's very possible that jisoo sometimes feels lost or like he doesn't quite belong. joshua was also known as seventeen's gentlemen early on in their debut and whenever he spoke he would keep quiet and sometimes there would even be a slight stutter in his words. i think that this could just come down to joshua being nervous but people aren't nervous about nothing. nervousness usually springs from insecurity. i also feel like its not the easiest thing in the world for joshua to keep him composed and gentleman image. no one is perfect and i think a lot of carats expect josh to be. josh is a musician, much like jihoon but i fear that sometimes he feels like he doesn't really compare to jihoon's abilities musically

junhui: junhui is difficult. i think he's the most 'stone-faced' member concerning how much he lets certain things about him slip. jun is obviously very proud of his looks but i think in some ways that can be a difficult topic for him. sometimes the things we pride the most in ourselves are the things we're most scared to lose. junhui puts a lot of effort into maintaining the image he has and, much like joshua, there's this worry of not being who he's made himself out to be. jun also has many skills and abilities but i feel like he often tried to overcompensate and push himself because of the fact that many carats or people, in general, see junhui for his looks and not for all he is. i also think often junhui isn't recognized for his efforts as a hyung and as a member, junhui is so considerate and helpful. he made myungho feel comfortable early on, he's always looking out for his members and he's more than patient all the time with them. i feel like junhui is the type of member that shows his affections and consideration but isn't always taken seriously.
