The cafeteria of Beacon Academy was buzzing with students eating their lunches, going over homework with each other, and somewhere in between. Team RWBY, on the other hand, were going over plans for their upcoming training exercise.
Ruby:So, if you guys look here, we've got the hoard of Grimm on this section that we need to deal with and the dolls we're supposed to evacuate located here on this section.
Ruby pointed with her pencil.
Ruby:If Blake and I take the dolls from each house over here with my speed and Blake's shadow clones, and Weiss and Yang take down the toughest Grimm on this section, then we can worry about the remaining Grimm and take them down.
Weiss:That makes perfect sense, Ruby.
Blake:Exactly. With my shadow clones and your super speed, this will be a lot easier.
Yang:Yeah, plus with Weiss and I taking down the huge hoards of Grimm, the smaller ones are easier to take down.
Ruby:Correct-o, Yang. Have we got it covered?
The girls shook the heads in agreement as Professor Goodwitch stared at them with a stern, almost disappointed looking face as her head swirled with thoughts and feelings. On one hand, team RWBY had just taken down one of Remnant's top criminals and the leader of the White Fang for crying out loud. But, on the other, more important, hand was that these girls could've been seriously hurt or worse had that happened. Why can't they just focus on school and not worry about a bunch of terrorists?! It didn't make sense to her. The exercise came and went an hour later with the teacher having that same look on her face as the team were all smiles and chatter at their accomplishment.
Ruby:Nice work, team RWBY!
Yang:Hell yeah, sis! Your plan worked and you were amazing!
Weiss:It wasn't all Ruby, we all had a part in it too.
Yang:Yeah, you Weiss with your defense protocols.
Weiss:Shut up, Yang.
Blake:Guys, we did it. That's all that matters.
Yang:Yeah, and it's all thanks to this little genius over here.
Yang says and then starts ruffling Ruby's hair.
Ruby:Sis!
Ruby giggled as she got Yang's hand out of her hair.
Yang:What?
The team giggled as the two other teams went to congratulate them.
Pyrrha:Congratulations, you guys.
The leader of team PRJN greeted cheerfully, followed by the slang of the leader of team CNVS.
Coco:Yeah, you guys were badass. Those Grimm fell harder then the sale of those crappy jackets at my favorite clothing store.
As the teams continued conversing, Glynda didn't take notice of how happy and jolly everyone was but instead of the four girls she's having a conflict with. Everyone was praising them for their efforts, as well as bringing up that big "accomplishment" they had.
Sun:I mean, those guys had nothing on Roman, am I right?
Yang:Nah, he's not as vicious as a pack of Grimm. But, we still kicked his ass none the less.
Yang said, shrugging her shoulders with that big grin of hers.
Velvet:I bet it was pretty scary, you know, fighting those bad guys. Are you guys ok?
Velvet asked with concern and her hands folded together.
Blake:Yeah, Velvet. We're ok.
Blake reassured.
Jaune:So, how did you guys manage to beat him like you did? It must've been very difficult.
Weiss:Well, with our teamwork, brains, and brawn, we managed to take him down and stop his plot. It wasn't easy but we did it.
Pyrrha:You guys must really proud of yourselves, aren't you?
Ruby:Well, we just saved the city from even bigger robberies then before. So, it's not like we saved the entire world or something.
The talk between all teams continued as Glynda looked on. Her mind then envisioned team STRQ coming into fruition. Qrow bragging about how easy it was taking down those Grimm, Tai joking about how much more difficult the written tests and projects were, Raven not being interesting in anything at all, and Summer pointing out that the only thing that mattered was that the mission was a success. Glynda couldn't help but feel the nostalgia flowing through her mind as now team RWBY were among the most popular future huntresses in the school and around the city. Yes, she's heard from the news praising team RWBY for their actions, calling them heroes who saved the city and other good things. Back to what she was thinking, Glynda couldn't help but make comparisons of the two teams on her mind. Team RWBY and team STRQ. Two popular teams of their respective generations. They were similar in terms of how they got popular as well as how similar each member was to each other. Ruby and Qrow were the awkward, intelligent ones, Weiss and Tai were the quirky and modest ones, Blake and Raven were simply the aloof ones, and Yang and Summer were the aggressive but caring ones. In terms in them in a hypothetical fight, it depends on which team STRQ. If it was the younger team STRQ, like in their beginnings, they would get cocky and leave themselves open. If it was in their final years at Beacon, they would stand more of a chance. In their final days, however, that's to be determined. Her train of thought ended there as well as her voice ending the conversation between the heroines and the other teams.
Glynda:Alright, teams. That's enough. You are dismissed for today.
The teams immediately left, most of them going out to their own devices.
Ozpin:I think you're being too hard on them.
Ozpin says, pouring tea for the two of them.
Glynda:They could've gotten hurt, Ozpin.
Ozpin:Again with this, Glynda?
Ozpin then gives his wife the tea as they continue talking.
Glynda:I don't care about what you said. I do have faith in them to become great huntresses but I don't want them risking their lives every night trying to put down a criminal organization. It shouldn't be their problem. They should focus on school, friends, anything that doesn't involve fighting thugs and other ruffians!
Glynda, after taking a deep breath, takes a sip of her tea.
Ozpin:Although it was dangerous, it was what they had to do.
Glynda:I beg your pardon?
Ozpin:Glynda, no one, not even you or I, practically anyone for that matter, knew about this. They stopped a bunch of criminals from unleashing those robots onto the world and making their robberies easier. Think about what damage the White Fang could've done if they hadn't stepped in.
Glynda:"sighs, then takes a sip of her tea" They're children, Ozpin. Children.
Ozpin:Yes, I know. But, they won't be children for very long. Soon, it'll be their job to step in and defend the world. We can't stop them, even if we wanted to.
The two were silent for a good moment or two before talking again.
Ozpin:Do you hate them?
Glynda was shellshocked at this point as she looked at Ozpin.
Glynda:No, I-
Ozpin:Then let it go. You can't keep giving them that look, Glynda. It's not fair to them, especially since they practically saved the entire city, possibly the world, with no other reason behind their actions other then they had to.
The two were silent once again as Glynda looked down in shame.
