A Week Later
"Jax, I really have some things to take care of. I'm sure that whatever you bought Tara for your anniversary is wonderful. She'll love anything you picked out for her."
Jax nodded even as he tugged Jessie's arm to get her out the front door. "Yeah, but I trust your opinion. I just want to make sure you like it before I give it to her. Just a quick trip to the clubhouse and back, I promise."
Jessie dug her heels in as she frowned up at him. "Why couldn't you just bring it here?"
Jax frowned for a moment before grinning. "It's really big. You know, a pain in the ass to move around. You'll see."
When he managed to get her past her van toward his bike, she pulled to a stop again. "I can drive myself."
Jax shrugged and grinned as he tossed her a helmet. "You could but this will be faster. Come on, you're not scared, right?"
Jessie growled under her breath as she plopped the helmet on her head. "What? Of coarse not! Wait, Filip isn't there, is he?"
Jax avoided eye contact as he busied himself putting on his gloves. "Nope, he's out with Tig and Juice."
Jessie sighed and nodded in apparent relief, causing Jax to disguise a chuckle with a cough. When she was settled on the back of his bike, he took off, wasting no time getting to TM. When they arrived, she followed him inside an empty clubhouse to a set of doors at the back of the room.
"Her present's in the Chapel. This way."
He opened the door and stepped back to let her go in first, wincing slightly when she cursed at the sight of Chibs sitting at the end of the table, calmly smoking a cigarette. She turned on her heels and ran straight into Jax's chest, bumping her nose hard in the process. He shook his head and gently pushed her farther into the room.
"Dammit, Jax! You lied to me!"
Jax smirked and nodded. "Yup, sure did, but you have refused every other move. Now, your going to stay in here until you've made up with your old man." He chuckled and nodded to Chibs, who looked like he was trying valiantly not to laugh. "Good luck, brother."
He shut the door and used the lock Tig had installed just that morning before turning to a smirking Happy.
"Damn, it actually worked."
Jax laughed and winked. "Of course, it did. I'm her favorite. Or I was, anyway. Get your old lady and the others here. They're up after Chibs."

Chibs was trying to keep a straight face but it was hard to do as he watched Jessie try to stay angry. He knew she was putting on most of it because she wouldn't look him in the eye. She had no trouble doing that when she was well and truly pissed.
"Would you please tell him to unlock that door?"
Chibs nodded as he put out his cigarette and stood up. "Aye, as soon as ye listen to me, ye little heathen."
He took a step forward, causing her to move a step back, a fact that he found interesting. He took another step and her back hit the wall by the door as she moved out of touching distance. She held a hand out, making him chuckle.
"Alright! Jeez. I'll listen to what you have to say, but you stay over there."
Chibs shook his head as he came closer, caging her in as she moved toward the table in a game of cat and mouse. "I dinnae think I can, luv. I have a great need to touch ye."
As he reached out and pulled her into his arms, the small whimper that escaped her lips almost did him in. "I can't think when you're this close, Filip."
He closed his eyes as he let his head lie on top of hers, just needing to hold her for a moment. He'd known that he missed her, but until he touched her he hadn't realized just how much. His need to have her near him almost brought him to his knees before he forced himself to step back from her.
He knew that they had to talk and he wouldn't be able to string two words together as long as he was touching her.
"I know I shouldn'a yelled like I did, sayin' that I couldna trust ye, but mo aon, ye scared me. I jus' found ye, and I dinnae wan' to lose ye."
Jessie nodded as she sighed. "I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have kept it from you but I'm used to handling things on my own. I didn't want to need you."
He took a step closer and held out a hand to her. When she took it, he smiled as he pulled her closer. "It's no' bad to need someone, Jess. I need ye too."
Jessie looked up at him as she laid her hands on his kutte. "Soooo... do you think you could kiss me?"
Chibs chuckled and nodded as he bright his head down to hers. "Aye."
When his lips met hers, they both melted into each other. They stayed that way for some time, both making up for time apart, before Chibs finally broke the kiss and buried his head in her neck. Jessie smiled and whispered softly in his ear. "Take me home?"
Chibs nodded before lifting his head and winking at her. "Only if I get to stay."
Jessie chuckled. "Oh, I insist."
He chuckled before wincing. "There's just one thing tha' needs to happen first."
Jessie frowned as he took her hand and walked over to bang on the door three times. "What's that?"
Chibs sighed as he heard the lock being removed from the other side of the door. "Jus' try to stay calm, darlin'."
