Chapter 8

Secret Identity.
*After school*
I walked out of my last class, but as I was walking.. I heard loud footsteps behind me. As I turned around, I could tell who it was by their loud panting. It was Carlos. It reminded me when he ran after me on the first day of school.
"H-hey.." He says while trying to catch his breath.
"Oh.. hi Carlos?" I reply back in an awkward tone.
"Look, I'm sorry for yesterday. I just really want you to have a good time here since you're new." He says & I could tell that he really meant it by the tone of his voice. My phone then beeped, it was text from Alex telling me to meet him at the school roof.
I looked down at my phone & said "it's fine."
"I have to go, Carlos." I say impatiently & before he could even say anything, I ran to the school roof.

I ran up the stairs to the roof of the school. As I get up there, I could see Alex standing, watching the sunset. I stood there for a good minute to admire how good he looked. I walked up behind him & whispered "boo" in his ear. He flinched a little & laughed. He sat down on the hard roof floor & stared at the sunset.
"People always say, 'Everything will be okay.' But is it always true?" He days & looks down onto his lap. He bites his bottom lip & smiles sadly.
I sit down next to him & put my arms around him.
"Why did you leave me, Y/n..?" He asks & looks the opposite direction from me.
"Alex.." I mumbled.
"I wanted you, I always wanted you. Don't you understand that? All this shit that my father is putting me through." He continues.
"W-what?" I stutter & took my arms off him.
"Ever since my mother's death.. almost 2 years ago, my father-." He says but then gets cut off by the ringing of my phone.
"Someone's calling me?" I say & look at my phone.
It was a number that I didn't recognize but maybe it was something important.
"Is this y/n's father's daughter?"
