Chapter 3: Smarter Than You

Four and a Half Months Later
A Cool, Clear Friday November Day

Gwen's POV
I was staring at the cabinets where they kept all the supplies like scissors, paper cutters, box cutters, and other sharp objects. I wanted a pair of scissors, reason...I don't want to be alive anymore. I was sitting in the arts and crafts room, as I was drawing. The door opened and Izzy ran in. "Gwen!" She said and I looked at her. "Yes?" I asked and she looked around. "Have you seen chef?" She asked and I shook my head and looked back at my drawing. She then popped up behind my shoulder and pointed at it. "Wow...you're really good." She said and I smiled a bit and she looked at me. "It's Mike's visiting day for the month, his friends and family are coming later." She said and I nodded as I knew. I told Mike that I might visit, I just didn't know.

Duncan's POV
I was invited to see Mike today at the place he was staying. I was sitting in the car and Ashley walked over and sat into the car. Things have been different without Randy here, as he's in college now, but...that just means less people that get in my way in the morning. Then my parents finally got into the car. My mother than started driving to this place. I knew the Russo's were going along with just Brigette.

How have I been without Gwen for the last four and a half months. It's been...it's a little rough you could say. I mean Gwen was my best friend at the most. I have no one go to with all my problems, no one to sneak out with, no one to...just go through my life with. I would say it was like the months before, but it's not. After what Gwen said to me I've just been upset and thinking, I was the reason for all this.

Bridgette's POV
I was next to Valentine, and we were becoming closer as we were forced to stop looking for Gwen reasoning as the facility took it over. They have her diary and a bunch of things from her room. As we made it to the facility I got out with Val and we walked over to Duncan and he looked at us. "Hey lovebirds." He said and I rolled my eyes. "We aren't dating." Both Val and I said. "Please, you two are falling in love." Ashley said and I gave her a look. "It's okay, you guys will notice sooner or later." Teresa said and I looked at Val and he was just crossing his arms. Tristen looked at us and smiled. "You two are so cute." He said and I glared at him.

The doors opened and we all looked as the guy who came to our house about four and half months ago. He had Mike would him and he smiled and waved at us. Zoey walked over and Mike smiled and she ran over to him and they hugged, and I looked at Val and he looked at me. "You two are so in love and I've seen you two, for about a minute." Mike said and Duncan laughed as I rolled my eyes. The guy looked at us. "Okay, there's one more thing...Gwen's around here somewhere and we don't know how she'll react to seeing you, of you see her...let her walk up to you." The guy said and we all nodded. I looked at Duncan and he sighed.

Duncan's POV
We were walking towards the outdoor area to talk. We walked outside and I sat next to Ashley. We all caught up with Mike and he looked at me. "So, have you gone back?" He asked and I laughed. "Nope" I said and Ashley laughed. "Not yet" Ashley said and I smacked her. "He's not wrong Duncan." Bridgette said and I rolled my eyes. "Honestly I'm surprised you're not back there right now." Mason said and I shook my head. "You guys can stop." I said and Bridgette put her hand on my shoulder.

Mike looked at us. "So they're saying I might to able to get out around Christmas time." He said and I nodded. "Finally I can get another sane person." I said and everyone looked at me. "Wow I'm not sane enough for you Duncan?" Bridgette asked and I started to laugh. "You're joking right?" I laughed and she rolled her eyes. Two girls than walked over. "Hey Zoey" one said and Zoey smiled and waved at them. "These are Dawn and Izzy." Mike said and they waved at us. "Oh Duncan...Jesse's here." Mike said and I looked at him. "Andrews?" I asked and he nodded. "What did he do to get into here?" I asked. "He went crazy in juvie remember." Mike said and I nodded.
