Reader POV

I woke up the next morning to sunlight filtering through my bedroom curtains, squinting my eyes as I sat up in the bed. I held the blankets up to my chest and looked over to the other side, sighing in slight disappointment that it was empty. Levi must have left for work already.

I got up out of bed and went over to my dresser, pulling out a set of clothes to wear for the day. After putting on my bra and panties, I slipped a light blue tank top over my head and then pulled on a pair of black leggings. I slipped on my flipflops and went into the bathroom to finish getting ready for the day, brushing my teeth and my hair. Once that was all done, I grabbed my purse and headed out for a walk to the nearest coffee shop.

Levi POV

I walked into the office late the next morning, setting my coffee down on my desk before I got seated and turned on my computer. A few minutes later I felt an arm snake around my shoulders and an odd laugh from beside me and I clicked my tongue. "You look awful today. But in an 'I got laid' kinda way. You're seeing someone. Who is it? I have to know." Hange mused and I only rolled my eyes, trying to continue getting to work on these files.

"Oh come on, Shorty, you haven't ever had a relationship since you started working here. This is huge. You can't tell me you didn't get laid either, I'll just get Mike to smell if you did or not. I bet he'd even be able to tell me who it was with that magic sniffer of his!" She teased and I inwardly groaned, knowing if I didn't respond she'd just keep at it until she got what she wanted out of me anyway. "You're very annoying, four eyes. It was an old friend from high school. Happy now? Go away and stop slacking on your work." I grumbled, pushing her shoulder with a hand and she pouted but gave up on it for now... But only because Erwin shot her a serious look.

Over the course of the next few weeks, (Name) and I had a couple more dates that all ended that same way, and on the mornings afterward, I was starting to come into work later and later. I was finding it hard to leave her side as she slept, a nagging fear at the back of my mind that she would get tired of waking up to see me gone. The strangest part was that Erwin was just confused about why I was showing up so late sometimes. Had Hange not told him I was seeing someone? That'd be a first. That woman's lips were as loose as the screw in her mind.

I was a little surprised he never questioned me about it though. Normally he was so strict, could he have figured it out on his own even with Hange not telling him anything? It seemed impossible but I suppose it wasn't really. Erwin had met her after all and seen the way I reacted to her situation with that disgusting ex she'd had. I sighed and leaned back in my chair, setting a paper down on my keyboard. "Levi..." I heard Erwin speak up from behind me and swiveled my chair around to look over at him. "What is it, Erwin?"

He looked down and was hesitant to reply but when he did speak up again, his eyes met mine seriously. "I'm giving you the day off tomorrow. Surprise her with something nice, why don't you." I felt my cheeks heat up a little, taken by surprise at being figured out and called on it so directly. I turned away before he could notice the color tinting my cheeks and just nodded as a response. But what was I supposed to do as a surprise for (Name)? I was at a loss. "You can also go home early today. There's not much left to do anyway. I can finish it for you."

Now I just felt like he was trying to get rid of me as I shot him a hard look. I didn't argue though, not about to upset him if he was giving me a day off just to spend time with my girlfriend. And in the next hour, I was packed up and leaving the station to head home for the night. But then something came to mind and I changed my route to head to (Name)'s house instead of my own. I parked the car in her driveway and went up to her front door, ringing the doorbell and waiting for her to answer it.

I was surprised to see a girl I didn't know open the door. She took one look at my officer uniform and began to get nervous, calling back into the house to (Name) that the police were here without even giving me time to explain. I stood there waiting, unsure how to even go about telling her that I wasn't here on duty. But luckily (Name) saved me from that explanation by arriving next to her friend a short moment later. "Levi? You're out of work really early... I wasn't expecting you to stop by so I had some friends come over. You can come in if you want."

The two girls stepped aside and let me into the house, her friend visibly relaxing now that she knew I wasn't here to arrest them or anything. "If this is a bad time, I can-" "You're not interrupting anything. We're just playing cards and watching tv. Come on, I should introduce you anyway." She interrupted me and her friend rushed off after her back into the living room, leaving me to follow behind at a slower pace. Now I just felt awkward being here.

"Guys, this is my boyfriend, Levi. Levi, these are my friends, Christa, Ymir, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin." (Name) said, gesturing to each person seated around the coffee table as she named them. I just waved to say hello and followed her to sit on the floor with them.

I ended up getting roped into cleaning up after all her friends left late in the evening. I did like to keep things clean, but I was just ready to go to sleep after dealing with that much social interaction. Her friends were a real handful and even though I was happy I got to spend time with her, I just wanted to go home.

Reader POV

"I'm sorry, Levi. I didn't expect you to come over. Sorry, you have to help me clean up too. You've probably got to be up early for work tomorrow." I apologized as he helped me wash the remaining dishes that had been used for pizza and other snacks during the get-together. He shook his head at my apology even though I knew he was tired and probably just wanted to go home and sleep now.

Levi left afterward and I waved him off, standing on the front porch as I watched his car grow smaller down the street until he turned the corner to get on his way home. I sighed and walked back inside then, unsure if Levi had enjoyed himself or not. I was also a little nervous to find out later what my friends thought of my new boyfriend and what Levi thought of my friends. He'd seemed a little uncomfortable around Eren and Mikasa. I was probably worrying about nothing though and pushed the thoughts to the back of my mind as I got changed for bed and climbed under the blankets to get comfortable and get some sleep.
