Chapter Nine

"Ezra is a mysterious guy,'' Deb says.

I furrowed my eyebrows together, "well, it's because you don't know him that well.''

"Do you?''

I shake my head. I know little things about Ezra, like his favorite color and favorite movie and what kind of music he likes listening too. I know that he has known Tessa for a long time and that they aren't dating but more like friends with benefits. But that's about it. He's still sort of a stranger to me.

"This is what I know,'' Deb continues. "That he's fine as hell and that you should definitely go out with him.''

"Deb-"

"Don't Deb me,'' Deb shakes her head. "Ever since Dante you've been on this stupid hiatus. Look, I know your past relationships with guys haven't been the greatest but look at Ezra. It would be a waste to not make out with him.''

If I'm going to be completely honest, I have to agree with her. Ezra is beyond gorgeous. With those pretty dark blue eyes and that sexy smile he wears and that long hair that I would kill to run my hand through. Plus his lips look so kissable like they were made for kissing. It would be a shame to not make out with him. I can't blame Tessa for liking him.

But there's a reason why I'm on a hiatus. I haven't had a successful relationship with a guy for years. After Emilio, my world almost shattered to pieces. I'm pretty sure that half the guys who went out with me did it as pity.

"I can't, Deb. My hiatus is important.''

"It's been seven months, isn't that long enough?'' Deb tells me. "You're hot, you know? And if you don't want to go out with Ezra then I'm going to find you a good rebound,''

I groaned but then she pulls me off the couch and she leads me to her room. "We're going out tonight and you're going to have the time of your life.''

"I don't have a life,'' I protest.

She rolls her eyes and she starts throwing some clothes at me.

💔

After trying on like fifty different outfits, we finally settle on one. It hugs my body and it's a little bit above the knee. It actually makes me look like I have curves and not like some cardboard.

Tessa comes into the dorm and she looks at me and cocks an eyebrow at us, "where are you guys going?'' she asks.

I was about to say nowhere when Deb beat me and said, "to the local town's club. Do you wanna come?''

I start shaking my head but they both ignore me and Tessa smiles and says, "sure.'' and then she rushes to her room.

I glare at Deb, "what?'' she asks innocently.

"She's a bitch, Deb. We don't really get along,'' I told her. "I thought you knew that!''

"Ssh, she's been really nice to me, Morgan. I just think that you guys need to work some things out.''

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, sure.''

Deb sighs, "I'll make sure she doesn't bother you. I promise.''

I roll my eyes. This night is already ruined and it hasn't even started yet.

💔

We arrive at the local town's club approximately forty-three minutes later. It was technically a thirty-six-minute drive. But it's kind of hard getting out of the packed parking lots and going through the school's gate with its heavy security.
