The Spirit Within

Nova woke up in his bed with a migraine the size of the biggest chunk of the Lost Hex. The last thing he remembers was screaming and things going black. He felt sick to his stomach and he rushed to his bathroom and began to puke up blood. Nova began to breath heavily as he tried to gasp for air he puked up even more blood, but the blood's color wasn't red, but the darkest black. "Oh no, it's getting worse." Nova wiped the blood from his mouth and looked in the mirror his right eye was now a bright orange like fires he conjured while it was in control. He entered the main area and everyone stared at him with a mixture of fear and worry.

"I assume that Sonia and Manic told you about my condition?" Nova asked as he looked around everyone nodded yes,he then coughed up black blood Sally ran up to him to make sure he was okay,he smiled for a brief second then the expression on his face returned to that of a serious one;"I have at least another couple years to lift the curse or the spirit within will consume my soul like all of the previous hosts before me."

Everyone was silent. Then Sonic spoke up, "Is there any way to postpone it?"

Nova sighed in defeat, "No, there isn't a way to slow down the process." Nova got up and headed back to his room. "If there was I would have found it by now." He turned around and leaned on the door, "I was never meant to have this power it's affecting me differently, the previous hosts only had brief moments of insanity and migraines the coloration of the host's eyes changing to a bright orange" He drew attention to his right eye, "I on the other hand; have been puking blood and just a few minutes ago it started turning black." He got on one knee and grasped his head in pain."I will most likely be dead before this is all over." He began to tear up.

"What about the Chaos Emeralds can they be of help?" Shadow asked holding the green chaos emerald up.

"Sadly no the Emeralds' chaos energy would just accelerate the process and kill me within minutes." Nova said wiping away some tears from his face. "Seconds if I was exposed to the Sol Emeralds."

As everyone looked at Nova, Sonic spoke up, "What about the 7 World Rings?".

Nova looked at him confused "What are the 7 World Rings?" Everyone looked at him with the same face except Amy, "I have never heard of them."

Amy held up a ring that Sonic gave her. "They are 7 mystical rings of Arabian legend they say to have the same power as the Chaos Emeralds and the Sol Emeralds but they don't have the same chaos energy running through them just pure magic."

"Possibly if they were on Mobius, not in the pages of a picture book."
