We all walked down the stairs until we stood just a few feet away from The Eiffel Tower. I took a deep breath and wiped my face from the tears. Jacob stood beside me as we walked. I started thinking back to what he said. I rubbed my temples trying to clear away the aching headache.
"Are you okay?" he asked me, I shrugged in response. Jacob glanced back then looked forward.
"Hey Ashley. Back here!" I turned around to see Courtney waving. Eve right beside her.
Eve cupped her hand around her mouth while still having her arm in the crook of Courtney's arm. She called out, "Remember boys have cooties. I would know since I grew up with a house full of them." I smiled slightly at the playful jester and they gave me thumbs up.
"Smile more! You don't need him!" Courtney yelled out before I turned back to Jacob.
"I know what you are trying to do and it won't work," I told him before walking ahead. "I just need to be alone for a while okay?"
"Ashley wait," Jacob grabbed hold of my arm and I looked at him pleading. He stopped then nodded.
"Thanks," I said before teleporting.
