Omegaverse and the Soulmate AU

This fanfiction contains omegaverse and the soulmate AU. This chapter will provide the way I will right the omegaverse and involve the soulmate AU so any confusion is cleared up.

Omegaverse

The omegaverse is an alternate universe where on top of the primary genders, male and female, everyone has secondary genders: Alpha, Beta and Omega. The three secondary genders are all very diverse as I will now explain.

Alpha: Alphas are the top of society and are always dominant. Both males and females can get Omegas pregnant but only males can impregnate a female beta. They are generally the protectors of the family and normally bond with omegas though AlphaxBeta relationships are quite common too, as well as rarely seen AlphaxAlpha relationships. Female alphas can get pregnant though their fertility rates are extremely low. They're generally very tall and muscly and carry dominant traits. They get protective over their mates and are very possessive. They have create cooking and fighting skills and have an amazing sense of smell. Alphas can experience ruts which I will explain later.

Omegas: Omegas are submissive and the bottom of society. Both males and females can get pregnant and males can get female betas pregnant. They are the family carers, generally the one to look after the children and normally bond with Alphas though BetaxOmega and OmegaxOmega relationships are also seen. Male Omegas can get female betas pregnant though the rates are low. Omegas are small and have very feminine shapes even the males, though females have generally flatter chests then female betas and alphas. Omegas possess great medical and family skills and have an amazing sense of smell. They also experience heats, which I will explain later.

Betas: Betas are the normal humans of society. Males can fertilise and females can get pregnant but not the other way around. BetaxBeta, BetaxAlpha and BetaxOmega relationships are all seen, two betas together is the most common. They carry no special traits aside from having a decent sense of smell. They are very much normal and can be both dominant and submissive though those betas in relationships with omegas are dominant and betas in relationships with Alphas are submissive.

Ruts: Ruts are something that Alphas can experience. However, unlike heats, they are easy to control, after the first one only being triggered by an Omega they have particular attraction to, or their soulmate. They are uncomfortable bouts of painful arousal that are a biological calling to mate someone, generally an omega even if they're not their soulmate. Ruts are not necessarily needed for reproduction but make the process easier. Alphas are known to be rougher during sex when in rut.

Heats: Heats are period of controllable lust which last for about a week. An Omega experiences these naturally once a month, but with the development of heat aids, they can be pushed back to once every few months though this can prove dangerous. During this time, omegan hormones attract more Alphas then usual and particularly strong ones, especially when the scent has been surpressed, can even attract Betas. While in heat, Omegas experience painful lust and a need to mate. Both genders, male and female excrete a clear fluid called 'slick' which makes it easier for the person they're mating with to satisfy their sexual needs. Omegas have an even higher chance of getting pregnant during their heat so many contraceptive methods are used. Omegas may 'nest' during this time which I will explain later.

Contraception methods: There are many different types of contraception that Alphas and Omegas use. There are two forms of condom, a normal one and a knot one. Knot condoms allow knotting during sex but then like a normal condom, cum is not released into the Alphas partner. Birth control is the other main method of contraception which allows the Alpha to cum inside their partner with a 75% chance of them working. Of course this is only needed with female Betas and Omegas.

Nests: Nests are something that Omegas create during their heat with the plan to give birth and to raise children in it. Nests are usually made with soft materials such as clothing, cushions and blankets, though anything can be used. When an Omega has a mate, they'll use their mates clothing in their nest so it smells like them. Omegas are very protective of their nests and will attack anyone who tries to destroy or even touch their nest.

Heat suppressants: Heat suppressants are a type of pill that Omegas take, which ward off their heat. These can be used to control when an Omega has their heat or to keep their scent from being too potent. They also make life easier for Omegas in public.

Scent blockers: These are a type of spray which cover particularly strong Omegan scents. They are used near the Omegas heat when their hormones and scent are stronger therefore more potent to unmarked Alphas.

The soulmate AU: A universe where most people have a destined mate. This is a person they have a deep affinity to and are supposed to stay with for the rest of their life. Finding soulmates can be hard but once they are found, it is easily known as a persons deepest desires are pulled to the front of their mind and all they can can think of since then is the soulmate. Often described as being tied together by string, one half of the pair is pulled towards the other half and vice versa. If someones soulmate dies they go into a deep state of depression which can end in suicide or self harm. Once near their soulmate, a small mark on your body that is identical to the other person is the easiest way to find your soulmate.

This took far too long to write and I just started school again so updates will be even slower. I'll try get into a habit of publishing a chapter every three or four months
