Part X: Sweet Reunion, Bitter Memories

(Y/N) POV

I look up ahead to see dark clouds and smoke. A few minutes later I see a few buildings on fire and the horses stand on their hind legs in fright.

Stage Coach: "I'm sor- HEY!"

I jumped over the rail of the carriage and began running towards the smoke.

(Y/N): "Don't worry the money is in the back!"

I ran faster as I charge into the village. I see families screaming from inside their houses as goblins claw at the door, women trying to fight their way out of the goblins' grip, and male farmers with scythes and pitchforks attacking goblins.

(Y/N): 'Time to triage.'

I ram my sword into goblin after goblin. The girls fall to the ground and look at me with fear fully shown on their face.

(Y/N): "Tell the others to all stay in the big building. Tell the men to make a barricade with the bodies."

They nod before running off. I grab any weapons that could help me. A bow, a club, and 3 daggers.

I see five houses with about 2 or 3 goblins trying to make their way in each home.

(Y/N): ' I'm sorry master...but I must use the rings. '

I put a speed ring and grab the bow. I launch a volley of arrows as I run towards them.

'Like the Mongols, I fire arrows while running and hit my targets.'

I down five goblins and uses my last two arrows to kill two more. I rush up to a house that had three goblins and threw a dagger through each one of their heads. I get on top of a pile rubble before screaming to the top of my lungs.

(Y/N): "Get into the big building! All men make a barricade along the building with the bodies! If you want to see the light of day with your family you'll do what I say!"

I see people follow my orders and I kill any goblins coming after them. I stand in front of the building slashing left and right until I heard a shriek.

???: "MY BABY!"

I look to where the lady is looking at and see a small child hugging a pole, crying, the fire on top of the shed roars. I dash towards the little girl and use my body to cover her. The debris falls on top of me and I start to struggle.

(Y/N): "Get the ring that's in my pack and put it on me."

My knees are getting weak and my arms are heavy. An image flashes of me covering cowgirl from the arrows.

(Y/N): "Hey, look at me little one." 

She looks around to see goblins circling around us and looks at me with tears in her eyes.

(Y/N): "I won't let them hurt you, I promise."

She finally does what I ask her. The rubble feels lighter now. I throw it on top of some goblins before carrying the kid and dropping her off to her mom. Just then three goblins latch onto my body and drive their daggers through my weak points in my armor. The people gasped in horror as I grab one goblin by his upper and lower jaw and rip his body in half.

(Y/N): "I'll wipe the floor with you..."

I grab the other two by their necks and clash their skulls together before placing my foot on their head and crush it. I place my foot on the other one and press slowly. The goblin claws at my leg as I push harder. It's eye pops out and then his entire head pops. I look at the villagers as I tilt my head and the fire is burning bright. Some look in horror and some in awe.
