"What's good broski." Tyren said plopping himself on my bed.

"Wasup."

"Aye my homie having a party tonight you down?"

"Nah I'm good, I think ima just chill here."

"What?" He scrunched his face up. "You for real I thought you would be the party type."

"Trust me I was, that's all I did back home my boys and I would hit the parties like left and right. But the last party I went to my best friend got killed so for now.. I'm good off parties for a minute."

"Oh damn. My bad bruh."

"Yeah. Be safe out there tho."

"I will." He said as we both dapped.

I laid back in bed thinking of my life, and everything that I wanted to do.

"Hey Ant, you Alright?"

I looked over to see Andre standing in the door way. "Yeah, I'm good."

"Tyren is gone, you wanna hang out just the two of us?"

"Sure." I shrugged. I didn't have anything else to do.

"Okay cool give me like ten minutes let me change and I'll be down."

"Okay." I nodded walking downstairs into the den.

I grabbed the remote turning the tv on as A Different World played. I watched as Denise spoke to her parents on the phone about her first day of college.

Denise was bad.. someone I could definitely have on my arm. My mind wondered to Ashley she was a quiet, shy type that I could have on my arm as well.

"Ight son you ready to go?"

"Yeah dad I'm ready." I stood up walking toward the door.

I turned back to see Andre still standing there with a smile on his face. "What?"

"You called me dad, all the time you've been calling me Andre."

"Yeah, well since I found out what I did you deserved the title so whatever." I shrugged. "Can we not make this a big deal."

"Okay." He laughed locking the door behind us.

"Where's Monica?"

"She went to Virginia to visit her family."

"Oh okay."

"Yep So it's just you and I."

I sat in the passenger seat buckling myself up as we began the drive. "I was thinking we can get ice cream and I'll show you around."

"Okay."

I turned the radio on as Zapp and Roger played. "I love Zapp and Roger." Pops smiled turning the radio up.

"Me too."

"One thing I can say about your mom, she always had the good music playing she loved music and she can blow."

"Yeah she can sing I've always told her she should sing at one of the local clubs producers be down there all the time."

"Oh really which one?"

"Ivory Place."

"Oh yeah. I remember that spot." He chuckled.

"Do you have any talents. Sing, act, play instrument?"

"No, not really." I lied.

"Don't worry you have the brains like your old man." He chuckled.

I nodded my head as we pulled up to a local ice cream spot.

"What do you want?"

"Butter pecan ice cream."

"Welcome to Ice cream Heaven How May I help you?"

"Yes can I get a two scoop cone of butter pecan and two scoop of your double chocolate moose track please."

"Sure please pull around for your total."

Pulling around the double doors of the drive thru window opened showing Ashley's face.

"Hey, Ashley right?" Pops smiled.

"Yes sir, Mr Wilson?"

"Yep, and my son Antwon."

I leaned forward giving her a quick head nod leaning back in the seat. "It's nice seeing you." Pops said handing her a bill. "Keep the change."

"Aw thank you, enjoy your ice cream." She smiled passing our ice cream.

"See you later Antwon." Ashley said.

"Yeah see you."

Pops pulled off handing my ice cream with a smile on his face. "See you later Antwon." He said in a girly voice.

"Stop." I laughed eating my ice cream.

"She's pretty."

"Yeah she is."

"You want me to hook you two up?"

"Have you hook me up with a female? No thanks I was doin fine back at home by myself I'm sure I can get her by myself."

"Well Excuse me then, just trying to help."

"Thank you, but no thank you I got it Pops."

"So you were a ladies man huh?"

"Were? I still am, I mean look at this face." I chuckled.

"Chip off the old block, you get it honestly." He chuckled pulling into a parking spot of the ice cream store.

"So you're sexually active?"

"Yeah."

"I'm sure your mother gave you the birds and the bees talk already."

"More like don't make me a grandma before I'm fifty or yo ass is grass type of ordeal."

"Same ole Nia, always talking shit." He laughed.

"Yep." I nodded.

"We'll make sure you keep that in mind, I'm not trying to be a grandfather no time soon."

"I'm not trying to be a dad anytime soon."

"Good. So were on the same page."

"Yep."

"So How you meet Monica?"

"We met at a park we both were jogging she bumped into me and sprained her ankle I carried her and that was that."

I burst out laughing. "My bad that jus corny like a cliche romance."

"Aye that's how it happened. How did you meet your girl?"

"I don't have one."

"Exactly." He smirked.

"Oh! Okay okay I see wha u did." I laughed.

The rest of the night we talked getting to know each other more, asking each other questions and talking about everything under the sun.

My pops wasn't a bad guy at all and I was glad I came out here.
