Chapter 6 : Complicated Conversations

The car stopped in front of the restaurant and Sameer, Naina, swati and Preeti got down from it. The emotions coursing through each of the four were different. Sameer was excited to be like a couple with Naina even if it was for 2 hours. Naina was apprehensive and hopeful that the meeting between their friends goes well and the situation doesn't turn awkward. Swati was plain irritated with the fact that she has to act all excited and happy about Naina's relation with Sameer. Preeti was excited to meet her friends after 4 years and of course worried for her sister's situation as well. While Swati and Preeti opened the door of the restaurant, Naina stopped Sameer by holding his arm to have a word with him. Swati too stopped along with Naina. "Swati tu aur Preeti andar jao, main aur sameer aate hai". Half heartedly Swati went along with Preeti inside the restaurant.

"Sameer tumhe yaad hai na".  "Don't worry Naina, tumhare doston ko pata nahi chalege ki hum.. I mean... that you.... Ki tum Swati se pyaar kar rahi ho", he said in one breath closing his eyes. With this they stepped inside the restaurant. Sameer found 4 girls, excluding Swati and Preeti looking at them with full excitement. Naina hugged each one of them and turned towards him and said, "Aur yeh hai Sameer, mere..."  .Pata ha pata hai humare hone wale jija ji". One of the girl said nudging Naina. "Hi jija ji I am kamya" the same one said extending her hands towards him and the rest followed the same procedure by introducing themselves as Rinky, Hema and Riya.

The eight of them took their seats. Again Naina was seating between Sameer and Swati and then came the time Naina was dreading the most. The excited question and answer session by her friends.Each one asked difefrent questions. "Toh batao Naina, tum dono pehle kahan mile".   "Preeti aur Pandit ke wedding anniversary mein", Sameer replied. "Aur tum dono ki arranged marriage hai ya love marriage".   "Arranged".   "Love".  Came the responses from Naina and Sameer respectively. They both looked at each other thinking of a way to clear the confusion. "Matlab hummari families ne rishta fix kar diya aur uske baad humari interactions bad gayi toh...", Naina trailed off.

"Toh.. haye Naina.. bolo na toh kya..."  "Aree Hema samjh na toh phir in dono ke beech pyaar ho gaya", Rinky said giggling along with her friends.  "Yeh sab baatein toh hoti rahegi, pehle kuch order kar le", Swati interrupted the conversation. Everybody agreed to this and soon the orders were done and by the time their food was arriving, another round of question and answer began. "So jija ji batiye na aap dono ek dusre ko kya kehkar bulate ho."  "Sameer aur Naina aur kya kehkar bulayenge", Swati replied to the question.  "Shh Swati tu kab se itni bewakoof ban gayi, school aur college ke dinno mein toh sabse zyaada romantic flims tu he dekhti thi", Hema told Swati.  "Toh bataye na jijaji", Kamya said raising her eyebrow.  "Main Naina ko Nainu kehkar bulata hoon," Sameer said in a soft and shy voice.  "Haina Nainu?", he turned towards Naina, addressing her in that name for the first time.  "Aur tu Naina kya bulati ho humare jijaji ko."  "Ma..mainn.."   "Hai tu? Sharmao mat bolo," Kamya asked her.  "Main Sameer ko....", now Naina didn't know what to say, so she came up with something that she had seen in movies. "Main Sameer ko aise he darling, jaanu kehke bulati hoon."  While the girl gang wondered how cute it was Sameer felt tiny tingles hearing Naina say such words. Words that he wanted to hear often from her while she would talk to him but could only hear at that moment, in front of her friends.

But one particular person from the eight was feeling uncomfortable by the exchange of conversation happening at the table and that didn't go unnoticed by Sameer, Naina and Preeti. Finally the lunch came to an end, throughout the lunch Naina and Sameer were continuously receiving teasing remarks. Kamya, Hema, Rinky and Riya didn't leave an opportunity to call Sameer handsome and cute, while Naina just smiled at their comments and Sameer wondered if Naina would have really been in love with him then would she have been this cool or would have got jealous.

On the way to home, Sameer dropped Swati first at her place and then Preeti stopped by Aggarwal house to have a word with Naina. As soon as they got home, Preeti pulled Naina into their room and closed the door. "Preeti kya hua?"  "Naina tumne Swati ka chehra dekha. Naina mujhe lagta hai ki tumhe swati se baat karna padega."   "Haan Preeti mein bhi aise kuch soch rahi thi. Sirf swati se he nahi main chahti hoon ki swati aur sameer aapas mein baat kare. Ek minute." Saying this she took her mobile and dialed someone's number. "Kya kar rahi ho", Preeti asked when Naina gestured her to wait. "Sameer, agar tum free ho toh abhi ghar aao, nahi koi problem nai, bas aao."
