The receptionist handed the young girl her brand new shiny ID and timetable with a bony, wrinkled hand. She looked her up and down, through the thick rimmed glasses placed upon her long and sharp nose - why was she so... Happy? Seeing someone smiling here was foreign to her, she didn't even know how to return the gesture. Little did she know, Eva's smile was just a mask to hide the pain buried deep beneath her skin.
"If you just wait here, another student will be here to show you around when first period is over." she stated with a frown. Eva nodded and placed herself on the metal chair by the door. Absentmindedly, the girl picked off the skin around her nails (a nervous habit she had created) while taking in her surroundings.
The boring beige paint was flaking off onto the blood stained floor, creating more dust. Patches of different colour paint littered the walls - an awful attempt to cover the holes in the wall (that had probably been caused by a series of punches from vexed students). The office was filled with the quiet hum of the computer and the receptionists nails smoothly clicking upon the plastic keyboard. The silence was awkward, like there was something needed to be said.
A loud buzz filled the stifled air of the small office, "saved by the bell" Eva sighed but after a few minutes still no one came to collect her. She stared out the window, looking for a friendly face that would save her - but all she saw was leather jackets and terrifying snarls. Heart racing, she looked away, Eva was afraid.
By the time the halls were empty she was still waiting patiently. Maybe they forgot...
"Hey, I am so sorry I'm late, I got held up in first period." a girl with brown and pink hair said, barging into the silent office loudly. She laid her eyes on the small brunette infront of her and almost... gasped?
What was a girl like her doing in a place like this? She was quite the opposite to... Well the whole of the southside.
"Are you Eva?" she questioned
