how I got into kpop

around 2016, this girl in my class was like, "OMG DID YOU SEE! BTS BEAT JUSTIN BIEBER!"
and I was like
"Sorry BTS who????"

and then she went on and on about how BTS was "the best K-pop group ever" and how they're "so talented" and "deserve all this recognition"

ever since then, I was never against K-pop, or anything related to it, but she slowly changed from an army
to a toxic army.

she would enter school, use out food tech classes to print pictures of BTS members, and then tell everyone that BTS are the best in the whole world.

cos of her
I began to hate BTS and army. I just found the. so annoying because of her. AND because of her, I didn't listen to kpop until 2018.

in 2017 or so when TT came out, my sister showed me the music video, because she said it was "some really funny music video and they have perfect in sync dancing"

so then I watched it and just went "meh-"

and then after a few months she showed Likey to me, and I was still like "meh-" because of my hate for BTS and army.

THEN in October, my friends were like
"please get into kpop!"

because in my new school, the people I befriended were K-pop fans. one was an exol and the other was an army. and so, I was like "alright I'll try"

and started

I immediately went for twice first, because I had already listened to their songs before. I instantly liked their songs and was like
"yUp I'm A OnCe NoW!"

(btw, my first K-pop female song was TT)

and then I listened to my first K-pop male song. regular. I was a little taken back by the big difference between twice and NCT, obviously, because one group was super cute and then the other was loosely based a lot around rapping.

I, however, didn't stan NCT until Simon says came out. I was like

"OwowoWhhsjeo,bHkwoBwoBoeb29=k(£(4))£)@9"!3?"

so I was pretty wowed by that. and that's when I left my efforts for trying to get into exo and got into NCT. and since then, I've become an NCT fan, and barely pay attention to twice anymore 🤡

I listen to other groups as well, not only NCT, (such as twice, red velvet [who have now become my favourite girl group], gidle, exo)

my hate for BTS was long gone when I got into kpop, however I still don't like their fandom
although they're really supportive, their toxic fans are a shit ton too much to handle. and since the fandom is so big, and normally 1/4 of a fandom is toxic, their crazy fans seem a lot more than smaller groups.
