Fanfic writers are truly amazing.

I remember when I started reading kpop fanfics, the first Markhyuck (romantic) one I read was called 'experimenting you'. Honestly, not the best one to start with, especially when you're not a fan of smut and other sexual content.

The fic was cool, not one of my favourite, but I'm not gonna trash talk someone's fic when my own are of the same level.

Anyways, after my friend reminded me that archive of our own existed, I checked that out. Read some amazing fics, majority written by Hyuckios and Baridalive. That's when I realised, well I already knew this because of my anime fanfics phase but sort of just remembered, that wattpad really does not have much variety in their fanfics

And that's something I hate with a passion.

Nearly every markhyuck fic on wattpad has these things:

•soft gay boy Haechan who likes flowers and rainbows and walks around in skirts.

•bad boy mark who acts like a tsundere.

•angst where either Haechan likes Mark but marks supposedly a straight boy who sometimes is homophobic and sometimes just not interested until they kiss and have sex and he suddenly realises that he likes guys.

•a lot of smut. Just smut everywhere. It was like people were waiting for hyuck to become an adult before they starting posting so much smut.

I hate all of these. They take them out of character so much??? Hyuck, first of all, isn't even that much of a soft boy irl? He may be cute and fluffy, but he sure as hell won't get bullied by everyone whilst wearing skirts, because hes a loud and strong mf who can defend himself. He doesn't need playboy, jockey mark lee (who btw isn't anything like that at all????) To come and fight for him.

The stereotypes of gay people are so strong in most fics, it's so not pleasing to read.

There's always that odd fic that actually has a good storyline and plot. Fics that use mpreg are also contributing to the whole Haechan soft boy thing. That tag should not exist, like wtf? People need to stop their 'feminine Haechan agenda' because it's so disturbing. They want to ship markhyuck but can't let them both be guys so force one of them to have feminine systems. Is Haechan a girl? No. Stop making him pregnant in fics, PLEASE.

The only time I've ever ignored it is in honeymouthed and full of wildflowers, mostly because the story isn't written by some 12 year old girl who humps off to gay smut and because it's an a/b/o.
