She never planned on anyone finding out. It wasn't that she was ashamed or embarrassed of it, it was just that she grew up killing for red room, where needing comfort and coddling was not tolerated. She grew up learning to hide and ignore her omega instincts and when all else failed to take a shot that masked omega scents and qualities. It was just natural for her at this point, so when she joined S.H.I.E.L.D and the avengers she never felt a need to stop.

So she didn't.

No one except clint knew and that was because in budapest, her sub stop wore off, and she almost had her first drop. Clint found her some substop; he didn't like that natasha was forced to hide her omega side, but he also knew that until she found her alpha, if she dropped now, it would be a trauma-induced which could scar her for life. Clint, being a switch couldn't fully go down on her like an alpha could. And so natasha remained on substop and no one knew. Until the day HYDRA blew up the based the tracker had led them too. The man in the computer had been distracting them and they only had 30 seconds to escape- and then the doors shut. Nat kept her regular cool facade but on the inside she was panicking. No exits....30 seconds....no place to hide.....what do we do? She desperately watched as steve threw his shield at the shut doors. He looked around and at the floor, and ripped open the hatch. Natasha felt a second of relief before she ran into steve's open arms, and in that moment, she came to a frightening realization. With all that happened, she hadn't had her usual shot of substop. But she didn't have time to think about that now. The rocks were falling and for the first time in a long time she felt scared. Steve pulled natasha closer trying to cover her completely and protect her as was his alpha way. Natasha was soon overwhelmed, and then a small brick hit her head and she was gone.
