"Are y'all the family of Ma'Kacein Gorge?"

My heart sunk in the middle of my chest, I did not want to see my son, my only son laid in a hospital bed. I prayed all the way over here.. I've been repeating the same prayer over and over

"Lord, wrap my child in your arms. Heal him. Strengthen him where he's weak. Forgive him for his hidden sins. Have mercy on my child."

"Yes, Thank you doc for all you've done for my son."—Mack said shaking the doctor hand.

"Sir, you're welcome. You have a strong son. A very strong son. He's a fighter, and as long as he's fighting. So are we"—Doctor Lee said as he directed us to Kace's hospital room.

"He's a Gorge, it's in his blood doc. Come on baby."—Mack said holding me as we walked into the room to see my son laid in a hospital bed. It did something to my spirit. I tried to hold myself up in the best way possible because I can only image how Kas feel. I've been in her shoes before.

Mack wasn't no saint all his life, he was dibbling and dabbling in the drug game years before I had Kace and Lauren. He was robbed one night, coming home and was shot. I told him these words

"If you love me, you'll leave it all alone Mack"

Sure enough, he showed me who was more important in his life and it was me.

Kas stood there being the strong woman I met ten years ago. I've always had a soft spot for Kastity, she's the perfect wife to my son and a wonderful mother to my grand kids. I love her for giving me the best gifts in the world and that's grandkids. I hold the best title in the world, and that's "Grams-Grandma". Once the doctors entered the room with the paperwork. I understood the importance of marriage, I understood what Kace meant to Kas.

"Guys, if you would give Kas and the doctor some privacy. That's her husband."—Mack

Mack was a very respectful, respectable man. Whenever he spoke, everyone listened. We all gathered into the waiting room. Lauren was doing well, I know how close her and Ma'Kacein is. To know my son was doing well, I was at ease. I knew God had him covered and I wasn't gone get in his way. I gathered everybody up to say a prayer.. my son needed prayer and God have me a gift I could never be thankful for and that's his mercy.
