Once Kace, arrived at Memorial. The whole hood and town was there, with flowers, candles and balloons. Like it was a concert! They had to clear out the whole floor for Kace to be brought in, under Mack request. It hurted me to my heart to see my best friend in such pain. It made me appreciate Brandon way more because that couldn't been him in that bed."So he's all settled?"—I said caressing Bee shoulder, sitting in the waiting room.
"Yeah, I pray. That shit just ain't right. I was right there, I suppose to protected him. He protected me our whole childhood"—Brandon
Brandon hasn't been right since he got back. He hasn't slept, he hasn't played with the girls. He's been up at the hospital since Kace arrived and I understood and respected what was going on. Before, me and him. It was him and Kace and Ty, that's really all he knew. He was the only child for a while.
"I know babe. I know. Kace is going to be fine. You have to believe that."—I said.
"I just want my boy to wake up already. Know what I mean?"—Brandon said letting a tear fall.
My tears began to flow because this was my very first time seeing Brandon cry and it hurted me that I couldn't make this pain he was feeling disappear. Brandon wasn't a cryer, atleast not around me. I needed Kace ass to wake up, so we can continue with our lives. This is not how this suppose to be.
"Baby, I'm here. You know that. I'm here with you, we will all get through this together. He's going to shake back"—I said.
"I appreciate that Kay, real shit."—Brandon
We all sat in the waiting room, waiting for them to let us know when it was okay, to visit Kace. The waiting room was cold, it was quiet. As bad as, I wanted to respect what Mack said. It still cut me deep to even know that Kace was down and in the way he was..
"Are y'all the family of Ma'Kacein Gorge?"—Nurse
"Yes"—Mack
"He's ready. You guys can see him now."—Nurse
It was hard trying to be in two places in once, I wanted to be there for Kas and Brandon at the same time but I couldn't. I really just gave Kas her time with Kace, her head was in thirty different places, this I know.
