After we finished our breakfast I decided to clean up, for a change of pace. "You're cleaning!? Who are you and what have you done with my Jacob?!" She snorted. "Oh ha ha, I just felt like doing something nice, for once." She walked over to me and pulled on my beard. "You're always nice, except whenever you have those mood swings, then I have no idea who you are. It scares the crap out of me, you know? I made an appointment with Dr.Floyd, she can fix any problem when it comes to strange behavior. " She put her dish into the sink and walked to the back rooms. She had a point, I didn't feel quite clear about my mood swings. I had no idea why I was feeling the way I did. What triggered these emotions? What brought them on in the first place? I'll just have to ask Dr.Floyd.
I took a quick shower, got dressed, and headed over to Marvin's barber shop. "Jake! Long time no see huh kid?" Marvin was always glad to see me, he always had crazy stories to tell me about women he claims he sleeps with. He's only been able to confirm three out of hundreds of them. "You know I've been busy Marv, keeping Natasha happy, movies, interviews,and parties have been kicking my ass lately. Thank God I'm free this weekend, well supposedly free." Marv stared at my hair and beard. "Looks like you're going for the caveman look. What role are you trying to get now?" He said with a chuckle. " I'm just a little rough around the edges, I've been too depressed to shave or get a haircut lately. " Marvin looked worried. " Don't worry Marvin, I'm all good now, I've just had a lot on my mind." I sat down and let Marv work his magic.
After about half an hour, he was done and I looked ten years younger. "Wow, thanks Marv, I'll be sure to stop by next time I need a tuneup." I paid Marv and gave him his tip. "Thanks Jake, and keep a smile on your face, it drives the ladies wild." He started sweeping up and I was in my way.
On my way home, I stopped by the market to pick up a few things. On my way in, I noticed a familiar girl from a distance. She was tall and had long, brown, curly hair, with a set of dimples that could make a man go crazy. Was that Maria? I ran over to make myself seen. "Jacob? Jacob Black?" It was her alright. I greeted her with a big hug. "I haven't seen you in ages! Where have you been? What have you been up to? Why haven't you called?" So many questions, she was still beautiful, even more beautiful than before. "I've been busy, plus I remember a certain someone being in a relationship with Joe Jonas. Whatever happened to him?" I already knew the story, and I hated the guy for what he did. "He was a complete jerk ,Jake. He cheated on me with one of my best friends. I'll never forgive him or her." I pulled her into a hug,I knew how much it hurt her,but it hurt me even more when she chose him over me. I know I wasn't much back then, but we could've made it work, but now, maybe this is a sign. What am I saying? I'm with Natasha now. "We really need to keep in touch Jake. I really missed you." She looked upset. We were really close, I wanted our friendship back. "Here's my number." We exchanged numbers and we said our goodbyes. I felt a little weird after seeing Sasha in person after all of these years. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.
