so today I am at the 150 years founders kick-off party, did I mention I hate these things

but it got a whole lot better cause Damon just arrived

I walk over with a drink

"come on, don't be a downer, it's a party for the founding families! That would be us. That would be rude to skip it" Damon says with his stupidly charming smile

"Damon makes a point, I gotta be here so do you. Have a drink takes the edge off. Or so Damon has told me" I say handing him my drink

"I really liked you when you hated everyone and had no friends" Stefan grumbles

"Oh I still hate everyone, I just hate Hades a little less" Damon says

I smirk and kiss his hand "feeling mutual babe"

"How are you feeling" Damon asks Stefan

"I'm good, I'm fine" Stefan says

"you know who says that, people who aren't fine" I voice

Stefan glares at me "I'm gonna go find Elena, have fun flirting with each other"

"Don't embarrass me young man" Damon yells after him

"come on I have to go check on my siblings" I groan

Stefan is dancing

"your brother is not okay" I whisper

We walk over to Elena

"Have I entered an alternate universe where Stefan is fun" Damon asks

"is he gonna be okay" Elena asks

"one way or another" I comment taking a drink of bourbon

I see Rick coming this way to Aunt Jenna

"anyway have fun sis, Damon and I are gonna go this way" I say dragging Damon

I see Liz who is in a dress

"wow Caroline is that you" I ask

"dang Caroline you looks smashing" Damon get in

Liz turns around smiling "Thank you Henrik, Damon. Cheers!" we all clink glasses and drink "I need that. You know I had my doubts about you two but you both won me over"

"Thank Liz, the council and you have been so great after my parents death" I say

"I like Mystic Falls it's starting to feel like home again" Damon adds

"well, your not gonna like what I have to tell you. Johnathan Gilbert's claims check out. Blood bank, missing people, all of it true. We might have a problem" Liz says

Jeremy comes over asking about Vicki's death and I slink away to the balcony

a minute later Damon joins me

"thanks for leaving me with that situation" he says

"welcome" I say taking a drink

Uncle John comes out

"Damon, Henrik's friend right" John asks

"John, Hades uncle" Damon mimics

"we didn't get the chance to meet at the council meeting" John says

"yeah that's cause I don't like you John" I say taking a drink

"are you enjoying the kick-off" Damon asks

"Oh yeah. I forgot how much fun these small town celebrations can be" John says

I scoff "so not at all" then I turn to Damon "I've been here long enough, I'm going home"

when I get home I see I have a voice mail from the princable

"Henrik, its your princable. I called to remind you that you are going to switch with a student from Paris tomorrow. So you better be at the school to pick up your plane ticket by 7AM" he says and hangs up

Oh shit I better pack, I am suppose to be there for six months

I start packing when Jeremy and Elena walk in

"where are you going" Elena asks

"you both knew that I was switching with a student from Paris for six months" I tell

"he did tell us that last year" Jerm says

I smile as I finish packing my clothes "I'm gonna go see Jenna, Rick, and Damon before I leave"

they nod and hug me

I go to see Rick first

I walk to his apartment and knock

Jenna answers the door

I lift an eyebrow

Rick comes up behind her

"well this kills two birds with one stone, I am leaving for six months" I tell

"the Paris thing right" Jenna says

"bring me back a souvenir" Rick says

I smirk and nod before going to the boarding house

I just walk in

"why are you here" Stefan asks

"where is Damon" I question

Damon walks down the stairs

"Damon, I'm leaving for six months" I say

"what am I going to do without you" Damon pouts

I smile "you will be fine Day"

he smirks at Day "who is gonna flirt with me on a constant basis, and remind me that I'm the hottest guy In the world"

I chuckle but leave

the next day I really leave
