At the Yulong Iron Fortress.
Kiel is currently running for his life, his feet leaving frost in the ground, his hands creating mist from frost. There were a lot of shouts and cries, people were slipping one after another. Each one of them cursing their luck.
The merchants and store owners weren't spared either, their wares and good frozen from the frost.
"Sorry!" he shouted without looking back, he was to frantic escaping. Behind him where a group of four men wearing yellow robes with a insignia of a dragon's head breathing fire. The man leading them was in his middle twenties. He was shouting. "Quick! catch that boy! Don't let him get away!.
They pushed around confused onlookers, causing others to be displease. One old lady was even pushed to the side, and was injured. This brought the ire and wrath of the nearby onlookers. They clamored.
"Look at what they did to that old lady!"
"Just because we're poor, doesn't give you the right to treat us like this!".
"Capture them! They should be punished!"
The angry crowd blocked them. Some even had unsheathed their swords and some other took out knives from their clothes. Not all of them were really standing up for the old lady. Seeing the four expensive looks, other just want to fish in troubled water.
The leader tried pushing the crowd away, he shouted. "Get out of the away! Don't you know who we are!?"
A rock smashed in his head and he cried in pain. He shouted "Who threw that!"
The started to get beaten up. one of them said in anger. "We'll remember this!" They can't fight back because once they do so, the situation would turn for worse. The people would only get more angry and retaliation would become fiercer. Public unrest was the last thing they wanted.
Kiel looked back and he stopped. His eye's having a hint of hesitation. He muttered. "They won't die right? They don't deserve to die right?"
He gritted his teeth and continued running. he said in his heart. 'These people won't kill, and these group aren't good people, so why does that matter! Why are they even trying to catch me?'
He reached the fortress square, his breathing ragged. He stopped for a moment and wiped his sweat and calmed his rapidly beating heart. He said. "Finally.... I got away..."
He heaved a sigh of relief and looked around, he noticed something in peripheral vision. He took a second look and his heart almost stop beating, there was a person standing amidst the busy crowd, wearing a black hood and a white mask. Kiel was sure, he was staring at him. He felt goosebumps all over his body.
The person suddenly disappeared. Kiel looked around, his hands, wet with sweat. Suddenly a hand reach to his shoulder. He screamed in fright and subconsciously punched.
"Ouch! that hurts!" A familiar voice sounded.
Kiel looked with wide eyes at the person, it was someone he knew. Man lIangji was the same. He shouted. "Damn, Little Chen! It's actually you! Haha! I knew you weren't dead!"
He became excited and went bear hugged him. He said. "The others were worried about you!".
Kiel's face went red and he hurriedly tapped his shoulder. Man Liangji noticed it and quickly let him go. He scratched his head and said. "Oh, sorry, I almost forgot!"
"You... almost... choked me to death!" He said, gasping for a breath.
Man Liangji laughed and ruffled Kiel's head. He said. "What! I'm just happy! anyway, what was that punch for? That actually kinda hurts!"
