Nathan's pov
When I looked at Nash I could only see pain in his eyes that he was trying to hold back. I helped him stand and we walked towards the growls and fighting. I could feel the pain Mikey was feeling and apparently Nash could feel Jesse's pain. "MIKEY STOP IT" I yelled. Li and Carter rushed over to help Nash and I. Jesse and Mikey looked at both us and stopped but when Jesse tried to walk towards Nash, Nash growled a warning growl at him and backed away. Mikey helped me and Li and Carter helped Nash. "You're lucky I'm not rejecting you, you jackass" Nash says and then passes out. Jesse made several attempts to help Nash but Li growled at him and Carter walked off carrying Nash. Jesse gave me a pleading look but I was to scared to say anything to him, he and my old clan beat me and left me to die. It wasn't fair I didn't do anything wrong yet I still got beaten and after a few years its like a switch was flipped.
~At Mikey's House~
Mikey was pacing back in forth upstairs and I can feel the anger radiating off of him. I'm Nash who's watching tv at the moment. "Hey Nash are you ok?" I asked him. "Yea I just want to know why?" he asks looking at me. "I don't know really everything was ok until I turned 16 that's when things went horribly wrong, each town we moved to they beat me, there was nothing I could do I had no one, as I turned 18 the beatings stopped and they left" I tell him. "What about Jesse?" he asks. "He was my only friend until I turned 16 then he did what everyone else was doing to me. All I've ever wanted to know was why? Why did they start abusing me?" I say to him. "Maybe we can ask Jesse since he's here" Nash says softly. "Yea I guess so" I tell him smiling.
~Next Day~
Michael's pov
I rushed inside and spotted that Jesse guy from yesterday. "You" I say growling and dragged him outside. "Explain why you hurt my boyfriend all those years back?" I growled. "They made me I didn't want to but they made me. Listen Nathan Sykes isn't like any ordinary vampire he's so much more he has powers he's the rarest of them all" he says panicked. "What does that even mean?" I asked him. "They're coming, they know I've left please protect Nash for me I have to go" he says and takes off. What does he mean by 'they're coming'?
Nash's pov
We saw Jesse in the school hallway and he was looking around frantically until he spotted Nath and I. "Nathan I'm sorry I hurt you but they made me and they're coming back they know I've told your secret, Nathan you're not like normal vampires. Do you remember what you learned about the vampires with special abilities?" Jesse asks Nath. "Yea but-" "Nathan you may not be able to feel that power but you will use it when you absolutely need it" Jesse tells Nath. "Nash baby I'm sorry that I've only caused trouble for you even if I was only here a day and I'm really sorry for what I'm about to do but if they know who you are to me you'll be in danger" Jesse tells me. "What-" then it hits me "Jesse please don't do this" I begged him. "I, Jesse McCartney, reject you Nash Grier as my mate" Jesse says. 'I'm so sorry' he mouths and then runs off. Then I felt this horrible pain in my chest like my heart was shattering and I felt water on my face.
