The reclusive Maeve did not want a grand celebration. It was enough for her to marry her prince in a secluded garden as magical as this. She stood in the enchanting setting prepared for the small party that would accompany them for their nuptials. Now that she stood there ready to take her place beside him, she wasn't so sure.
Was it a smart decision to pair them up? And where was Jeon? Why has he abandoned her on this day of all days? Was he also skeptical of their union? He had implied earlier that he would be part of their happiness. Those thoughts sit with her as she ponders if this is what is best for her child. She looks at Sugi dressed in his fancy clothes. His face radiant and happy in contrast to Jimon that can barely keep the fake smile on his face. The difference is they both love each other and Jimon would do anything to keep him happy.
She wants to be part of that happiness. After this day, she will be part of this family and her child the heir to the throne. She turns to see the elves approaching with their lanterns. Although she thought Sugi had not invited them, the elves came to witness their union. Among them, Sugi's oldest friend, Vante.
Vante walks up to Sugi and hugs him. "I couldn't miss this, my prince."
"You made it just in time!" Sugi happily replies turning to face those gathered there.
Galadriel stood before them ready to perform the ceremony. They gathered around ready for it to commence.
But there's another reason the elves of Rivendale have returned this day. Sugi's father has summoned them to assist in the impending war along with the men of their kingdom. Jeon is weary having just returned along with the King. He stands to the side near his prince ready to defend them with his life. Just like Vante, there was no way he would miss this.
Happiness swells in Sugi's heart at the sight of his proud father. The elves and men rejoice at the union and toast to the health of the unborn child. Even Jimon can't help being happy witnessing this grand event made more beautiful in the glowing moonlight. He can't believe how he has been elevated from that lost orphaned boy that first came here not too long ago. He also, can't help but wonder if Sugi will keep their relationship secret from his father.
Suddenly, he hears the words in his head. It is the voice of Galadriel. "You are part of this love and happiness. Fear not for your prince will not abandon you."
At the same time, he hears Sugi accept Maeve as his bride. Jimon's eyes turn to Maeve, who stands there timid and afraid till she hears Sugi's voice accepting her as his bride. She is overcome with emotion as Sugi and everyone else wait for her answer. Before she speaks, she glances over to Jeon that can't bring himself to meet her gaze.
The prince takes her hand, "Maeve." He searches her eyes hoping she has not changed her mind, but his soft gaze brings a smile of reassurance to her face and she answers, "I do."
